Upcoming Audi e-tron v/s e-tron Sportback

Details

As all-electric SUVs are being brought through the CBU route, we expect no changes compared to models already sold overseas. Both get an electrical motor on each axle, which produces a combined 360hp and peak torque of 561Nm in standard drive mode, helping to realize a claimed 0-100kph time of 6.6 seconds. In Sport mode, electric motors develop 408hp and 664Nm, shortening the 0-100kph sprint time to 5.7sec.

Power comes from a 95kWh battery pack that weighs around 700kg and features a range of over 400km on a WLTP bicycle, almost just like the Mercedes EQC. Audi says that the 150kW DC Fast Charger will charge the battery up to 80 percent in only half-hour, while the quality 11kW wall charger will take 8.5 hours to use. Audi India has confirmed that “the cars are going to be offered with a charging unit, giving customers the choice to put in them their home or office.”

Range is that the most vital question when it involves EVs and therefore the 55 Quattro trim claims369-441 km per WLTP cycle. There’s also a 230kW trim, which produces roughly an equivalent torque and acceleration figures because it uses a smaller 71.2kWh battery, thus limiting its claimed WLTP cycle range between 282-341 km.

Both are full-size SUVs; though the Sportback clearly uses a sloping roofline, keeping in mind the present craze of SUV-coupe styling. Needless to say, the newest range of connected car technology with in-car and security systems are going to be offered on both models with fast charging options which is one among the newest development for the e-tron range.

By 2025, the Audi portfolio globally will include quite 30 models with electric drives already, of which 20 are going to be all-electric. For now, the expectation is that Audi are going to be priced round the starting price of the e-tron and possibly quite Rs 1crore.

Space and Flexibility

Both sorts of Audi e-tron provide extra space for rear passengers, as unlike many other manufacturers, the battery is found under the car. This suggests that there’s no need for a central tunnel. To further improve versatility, standard-fit electrically adjustable, heated front leather sport seats make the inside a simple task to your liking.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The e-tron has two electric motors under its heavily enhanced bodywork, one located on the front axle and therefore the other at the rear. Together they supply electronic all-wheel drive, but the rear motor works mostly. In regular driving conditions, they create a combined 355 horsepower and 414 pound-feet of torque. However, putting the transmission in Sport mode briefly unlocks 402 ponies and 490 pound-feet. Driving impressions showed that the e-tron was fast and composited. Its fast acceleration is typical for electric vehicles, and therefore the smooth and quiet ride quality confirmed its luxury bona fides. Its stopping system blended its traditional brakes efficiently with the mandatory regenerative braking system. However, we were disappointed that it had been not aggressive enough to enable one-pedal driving during testing for the Sportback model. Nevertheless, the e-tron exhibits traditional SUV features with a capacity of up to 4000 pounds.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The e-tron’s most impressive technology is its electrified system, but the five-seated crossover also features a state-of-the-art and practical cabin. Its dashboard is full of several high-revolution screens including Audi’s digital gauge cluster- called a virtual cockpit – and two flush-mounted touch screens within the center. Of course, there are a spread of upscale options like the head-up display and massage front seats to further the e-tron’s refined interior, which benefits from a flat floor, because of its neatly underfloor battery pack. This helps the regular e-tron provide a commodious cargo deck that measures 29 cubic feet behind the rear row and 57 with the seatback fold flat. The Sportback’s sloping roofline reduces both figures by 2 cubes, but we still fit seven carry-on suitcases behind its rear seats- one but the regular e-tron.

Features

The e-tron and e-tron Sportback are expected to incorporate Audi’s virtual cockpit digital instrument display, two touch screens – an upper 10.1-inch screen and a lower 8.8-inch screen – connected car technology, matrix LED headlights, a group of drivers is. Systems like Park Assist and Adaptive control and more. Whether or not an optional 7.0-inch display are going to be on offer rather than an external rear-view mirror is yet unknown.

Rivals

When Audi’s all-electric SUV arrives, they’re going to combat Mercedes-Benz EQC and Jaguar i-Pace. The e-tron SUV is predicted to be priced within the same area because the EQC, with the Sportback priced at a small premium.

Which one do you have to pick?

This decision will depend upon your lifestyle and private styling preferences; both variants offer dynamic all-electric performance, contemporary and digitally connected interiors, and a comprehensive package of practically. If space, versatility and price are high on the agenda, then the quality Audi e-tron may be a favorable choice. If you would like your e-tron to supply an additional dose of favor and dynamic look, then Sportback could also be a more suitable option.
