Udyog Dept will setup EV policy for Faridabad

State governments including Haryana are taking major steps to boost EV production, encourage buyers to use EVs, and expand the vehicle charging infrastructure. In order to promote the same, the Haryana government has decided that the electric vehicle policy should be comprehensive. In this regard, charging and license fees for electric vehicles should also be free in the form of production subsidies. Therefore, the government is delegating responsibility for policy development to the Ministry of Industry. However, a draft of this policy has been drawn up by the Ministry of Transport, which has sent a draft policy to the Ministry of Industry to help them in formulating the EV policy for the state. The government of Haryana has set a target in its EV policy for the electrification of the Faridabad-Gurugram city bus by 2024. At the same time, targets have been set to transform other commercial vehicles or traditional vehicles into EVs. To this end, an electric bus ran on August 15 under a pilot project by the state government between Faridabad and Gurugram. In a month's time, the activity of this bus will provide data on which all buses can be electrified. NTPC is preparing to purchase 250 electric buses for public transport. A transport company will operate these buses and are paid to the NTPC per kilometre, depending on the number of buses used. Investments in the purchase of buses from the state government are reduced. Under the EV policy, the state government aims to electrify public transportation buses by 2029 in line with the central government target to electrify transportation across the country.

Development and Convenience of electric cars

"Pure" electric cars have been on the market for many years, however for economic reasons only a few manufacturers have so far accepted this challenge, while almost all have accepted that for hybrid-electric models. There are three factors that make electric cars particularly economical in terms of consumption: (1) electric energy for vehicular use is not taxed like fuels; (2) an electric motor is nearly 4 times more efficient than a normal internal combustion engine; (3) an electric motor does not consume in case of the stop. Therefore, the savings in economic terms in the management of an electric vehicle is considerable, and after a certain time - to be calculated case by case, since it depends on many variables - it compensates for the higher purchase cost of the vehicle. The only weak point of these cars, together with obviously the relatively reduced autonomy in the case of full-electric models, is represented by the still rather high cost of the batteries, should the need to replace them arise.
