Where to find EV Charging Stations in New Delhi?
According to government data from Delhi, sales of electric vehicles (EVs) in the capital are more than the sales of traditional vehicles last year. Higher pollution levels and higher prices for petrol, diesel, and other fuels are encouraging Delhi residents to move towards greener transport. It is assumed that environmental awareness will make a big difference in consumer behavior in the near future, resulting in a shift towards green mobility. It is noted that around 9,540 electric vehicles have been made by Delhi residents in the third quarter of the year 2021. Out of the total sales of EV, a total of 2,873 were sold in September, 3,275 in October, and 3,392 EVs were sold in November. According to the Delhi government, electric vehicles have risen to second place in vehicle sales after petrol-powered vehicles with 82,626 units sales.
People of Delhi agreed on the fact that electric vehicles are much better than conventional alternatives such as diesel and CNG vehicles. Between September and November, 7,820 CNG vehicles and 2,688 CNG vehicles were sold. The data shows that 3,918 petrol + CNG and a further 1,429 petrol + hybrids were also sold.
According to data shared, Delhi has 12 times more electric vehicle charging stations than the largest state in India, Rajasthan. Delhi sells six times more electric vehicles than the rest of India. Delhi has become the EV capital of India as a result of holistic policies that drive demand and develop the EV ecosystem. The Union Metropolitan Area is subsidizing EV customers with Rs 10,000 per kWh of battery capacity, up to Rs 150,000. However, the impact is not yet known since the grant was withdrawn recently. In 2019-2020, the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has set the unit price and the price of electricity for electric vehicles at Rs 4.5 per kWh and Rs 4 respectively. Service charges do not include electricity charges, time-based penalties, and GST that the franchisor charges the user to charge the PCS on the EV.
Delhi is one of the most polluted capitals in the world and the Delhi government and civil society are pushing for electric cars to encourage residents to choose clean cars. The Delhi government has introduced an electric vehicle policy in 2020 that will give consumers some aid and incentives. They will install 500 electric vehicle charging stations by June 2022. They will be accessible through the app and it will guide the EV drivers through Google Maps the route of the charging station from their location. Soon Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) will set up 1400 new EV charging stations across the city which can charge E2W, E3W, and E4W.
The Delhi government is all set to install about 400 electric vehicle charging stations at170 locations across the city
To improve electric vehicles and make the electric vehicle charging station more user-friendly, the Delhi government is all set to install 377 charging stations in 170 various locations in Delhi. The Delhi government has launched a dedicated website to promote and boost the adoption of electric vehicles in the city to encourage travelers to switch to electric vehicles. With this website, the AAP government wants to provide the public with the best user experience, as well as all the useful information to make buying an electric car easier. The main function of the website is to provide information about the charging station, such as location, type of charger required, location of charging station, etc.
