TATA Electric Vehicles on the Horizon in India

Tata Motors, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, appears to be trying to take control of the electric vehicle industry with the imminent launch of various new electric cars in the market. Tata Motors is already leading the EV market of India with Nexon EV and Tigor EV. With the launch of the upcoming new electric cars, the demand for TATA electric vehicles expects to grow even more. The automaker announced that TATA has 10,000 company's electric vehicle buyers spread over many cities across the country. India currently accounts for about 70% of the passenger electric vehicle market. Tata Motors sold 4,419 units from April to September 202. In the middle of this year, Tata sold more than 4,219 EV units as compared to last year. TATA Nexon EVs are the best-selling EVs in India with a 58% market share (3,618 units) while the Tigor EVs hold 13% of the market and rank third in the EV ranking (801) instead of its launch just a few months back.

Tata Motors with the sale of 1,586 units of Nexon, Tigor, and Xpres T EV models in October exceeds the total sales of these three cars in seven months (April to October) of 6,005 units. It set a new record this year and is expected to sell more than 10,000 electric vehicles before the end of the ongoing fiscal year. However, the global semiconductor supply crisis could slow down Tata Motors' explosive growth in electric vehicle sales, which will also affect other EV makers in the country like Ola. At a press conference held a few weeks back, Tata Motors CFO said that the average wait time for most Tata Motors passenger cars is 6 to 8 weeks. For the most popular models, it takes 9 to 10 weeks to 6 months.

Upcoming TATA Electric Cars

Tata Altroz EV

blog?

The Tata Altroz EV is based on the actual Altroz hatchback. TataMotors' Altroz EV is based on the new Alpha platform and is the first electric vehicle to use this platform. Other than the change in appearance, this car is similar to its petrol variant TATA Altroz. The company claims that the Altroz EV can go up to 250 kilometres on a complete single charge. In looks, the Tata Altros EV is somewhere a replica of its petrol version. This electric vehicle from Tata is also being manufactured using Ziptron's new electric powertrain technology. The design of the Altroz EV differs slightly from the recently launched Altroz petrol model. We easily notice changes have been made to the front and rear bumpers of the Altroz EV. One of the attractive features of this car is that the alloy wheel is highlighted in blue.

Altroz EV is based on the Altroz EV specifically designed platform, the ALFA-Arc platform. The Altroz EV battery is a 30.2 kWh IP 67 fused lithium-ion battery generated at approximately 100 horsepower. The electric vehicle is based on Ziptron EV patented technology, and the Nexon EV is also based on this technology. As a result, Altroz, which never featured an automatic transmission, sees a single-speed gearbox (similar to an automatic transmission) as an excellent example of an electric vehicle. It will take one hour with a fast charger to charge its battery upto 80%. It is expected to be launched with a price range of Rs. 11.50 - 13.00 lakh in the Indian market.
