Mahindra XUV400 (a direct Nexon EV competitor) will be available in Two Battery Configurations
With the growing possibilities of electric vehicles in major auto markets like India, local company Tata is all set to spend a lot of money to expand its EV segment. The company has recently announced the launch of eight new electric vehicles in India. However, the launch date is yet to be revealed by the company. One of the electric vehicles of the future will be an electric vehicle based on the XUV300, which will be known as the XUV400 or eXUV300. The electric SUV was introduced as a concept at Auto Expo 2020 and is currently being tested on the road.
Launch Date of Mahindra XUV400
As per the reports, the company is likely to debut its Mahindra XUV400 car in 2023. It will be somewhere between XUV300 and XUV700. The company will be able to release under a new name in India under the name Mahindra XUV400 which is currently undergoing road testing. The company currently has no electric car range in the private car sector. We are expecting that this scenario will be changed with the arrival of XUV300EV and eKUV100. Following a discussion at Auto Expo 2020, it was rumored that it would soon be available in the Indian market. However, the exact release date is unknown, even after more than two years. Mahindra, on the other hand, could launch many electric vehicles in succession in the future. Earlier, many Mahindra models were launched in India belonging to the SUV and minivan range. The best-known models of the new generation are Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, and Marrazzo AMT.
Specification of Mahindra XUV 400
It is now confirmed that the Mahindra XUV300 will also get its electric version soon, but it's unclear yet whether Mahindra will call it the XUV300 Electric or XUV400. The XUV400 will be the first EV to be designed according to the Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA) design. Series models are available in 350V and 380V models, as well as two batteries. The long-range version has a larger battery and the standard version has a smaller battery. The test model resembles the standard combustion engine version despite a full disguise but is subject to change. The interior design of electric SUVs is expected to be based on the petrol version in the future, but possibly with few updates. The front end of the XUV400 may have a list of updated features and designs in the future. The expected range of the future XUV400EV is expected to be around 350 km. Affordable models will compete with electric cars like the Nexon EV and expensive models will compete with the Hyundai Kona and MG ZS EV. The eKUV100 is expected to be by the end of this year at a price range between Rs. 15 lakh- Rs. 25 lakh.
Mahindra EV future plans
Mahindra is all set to launch 16 electric vehicles by 2027, covering SUVs and the light commercial vehicles range. The different ranges of electric cars will definitely strengthen the company's position in the electric vehicle sector in India. Mahindra has set itself the target of increasing total sales by 15-20% by 2025. As part of plans to expand the EV market, Mahindra has retained the option of attracting private investors or splitting the EV industry into separate companies to fuel growth. Some of the electric SUVs will be launched somewhere between 2025-2027. The light commercial vehicle (LCV) division will also launch eight electric vehicles by 2027. The company has also announced plans to invest Rs 300 billion in the electric vehicles segment of the company.
