1. Jio-BP to set up EV charging stations at Omaxe properties.

Jio-BP, the joint venture between Reliance Industries and British oil & gas major ‘BP’, will set up EV charging stations at properties of real estate developer Omaxe in 12 cities. Jio-BP will set up EV charging infrastructure at Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Amritsar, Jaipur, Sonipat & Bahadurgarh.

These services will be available 24x7 for 2 & 4-wheelers. Battery swapping facility will also be available at these stations.

The joint venture's EV services operate under the ‘Jio-BP Pulse’ brand. These upcoming stations will reflect on the ‘Jio-BP Pulse’ mobile app.

2. Kia Motors to install rapid EV chargers at its dealerships.

Kia Motors will install 150kW EV fast-chargers at 15 of its dealerships in 12 cities across India.

The EV6 supports 800-volt charging architecture enabling rapid charging. A 350kW charger can charge the EV6 from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, while a 50kW charger takes 73 minutes. With the 150kW chargers at the Kia dealerships, the EV6 could be charged from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, the newly-launched ‘EV6’ has received 356 bookings so far, although Kia had planned only 100 units for the Indian market.

Kia will introduce its first India-specific electric car in 2025.

3. Plans for setting up EV charging stations on highways across Karnataka.

There are elaborate plans to set up EV charging stations at highways in Karnataka. Bengaluru-Mysuru, Bengaluru-HubballiDharwad & Bengaluru-Belagavi highways are on the priority list for setting up charging stations. This was announced at the launch of the ‘EV Jagruthi’ web portal, a joint initiative of Niti-Aayog & the United Kingdom. 

Karnataka has the 3rd highest number of EVs in the country (after UP & Delhi).

Previously, the Bengaluru-Chennai expressway was selected for setting up EV charging stations.

4. EV charging company BOLT signs two tie-ups.

Real estate company ‘Trehan Iris’ has partnered with EV charging network 'Bolt' to set up 10 charging stations in Iris Tech Park on Sohna Road & Iris Broadway Mall (both in Gurugram). 

Bolt will be responsible for service & maintenance of the charging stations. 

These charging points will reflect on the Bolt app. The app will also provide other details like rate per hour, station availability, charger health & slots availability for pre-booking.

There are plans to install more Bolt charging stations at other Trehan Iris properties.

Goa-based multi-faceted EV company 'BLive' has partnered with BOLT to set up EV charging points. With this partnership, the companies plan to install BOLT EV charging stations in over 100 locations in the coming months across India. The first set of installations will be in Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Telangana. 

At present BOLT & BLive have installed chargers in Salarpuria Sattva’s Knowledge Park in Hyderabad and is in the process of installing more chargers at various other Sattva properties.

BLive is an EV solutions provider for enterprises adopting electric mobility. The company offers end-to-end solutions for 2 & 3-wheeler EVs, bespoke charging solutions, finance options & after-sales support.

5. Kazam sets up EV charging points at Dwarka-based housing society in Delhi.

Dwarka, a suburb in Delhi, is embracing the EV movement prudently. The societies are taking benefit of the subsidy given by the Government of NCT of Delhi. 

Seven EV charging points have been installed at DJA Society, which will help charge 2 & 4-wheelers. The President of the society reached out to Kazam EV Tech for the EV chargers. Kazam has been empanelled by the Delhi Government for providing EV charging solutions in the national capital.

The charging system will be app-oriented, including payment.

To promote EVs, Delhi government has a single-window facility where citizens can get charging points installed in their residences, housing societies, etc through empanelled vendors (like Kazam).
