Tesla SuperChargers

At the time, Tesla aimed to reduce reliance on limited public charging options. The initial Supercharger terminals, classified as V1 and V2, provided a maximum charging power of 150 kW. It wasn't until 2019 that the more advanced V3 stations were introduced, offering a maximum power output of 250 kW.

When using a Supercharger, the charge time varies. While the latest Superchargers can deliver up to 250 kW, the charging rate tapers off as the battery fills up. To optimize charging, it is recommended to program the Supercharger stop in the car's GPS, which triggers battery pre-conditioning and increases charging efficiency. On V3 terminals, it is possible to gain approximately 24 kilometers of range per minute, amounting to around 360 km in just 15 minutes. Recharging from 10% to 80% can be accomplished in about 20 minutes on these terminals. On the other hand, V2 terminals with a power output of 150 kW take approximately half an hour to achieve the same charge level. Tesla's Supercharger network offers convenient and efficient charging options, with the latest V3 terminals allowing for rapid recharges and significant range gains in a short period.
