ORA R2 vs Mahindra eKUV100: Electric Cars Under 12 Lakhs, Specifications, Speed, Launch, and More


ORA R2 is another electric mini car in the EV segment of India. ORA R2 can travel 400 km in a single complete charge. As of now, ORA R2 mini cars can only be used with electric models, we have to wait for its petrol variant. In the Indian market, ORAR2 claims to be launched this May at the price range of Rs.10 lakhs. The makers involved in ORA R2 designed this car really well. ORAR2 can attain the So Plus speed very quickly.

ORA R2 Designs

It has a Wheelbase of 2,490 mm, length of 3,625 mm, Width of 1,660 mm, and Height of 1,530 mm. We can easily notice from its design that this Ora R2, the compact EV electric vehicle, is focused on its "cat" design. It has rounded edges and you can also notice smooth curves, smoothing out clean lines and preserving the shape of the box. The knob has a mouth-shaped grille that perfectly goes with rectangular headlights. Its left front fender has the car's charging port. There is a glass tailgate on the back of the R2. In other words, its tailgate and the rear windscreen are the same. The rear lights occupy most of the width of the rear window and are separated by the Ora logo in the middle.


ORA R2 Specs and features

It is an Automatic transmission type 5-seater hatchback car. The new mini car Ora R2 is equipped with a 33 kWh lithium-polymer battery and can give a range of 400 km on a single charge. The battery range of the Ora R2 is 100 km longer than that of the new electric ORA R1. The Ora R2 is equipped with a 46 kW permanent magnet electric motor that produces 63 hp. It has an infotainment system with a 23-inch touch screen along with an instrument cluster. This car is equipped with 6 airbags and has wireless charging pads. If you want to change lanes, you can choose the lane change assistant option.

Mahindra eKUV100

Mahindra launched one of the anticipated models in the EV domain and that is eKUV100 in India at a price range of Rs 8.25 lakh. The electric vehicle, based on the KUV100 mini SUV, is equipped with a liquid-cooled battery with a capacity of 15.9 kWh and an autonomy of 147 km. This is one of the most affordable EVs in the Indian market, compared to Mahindra eVerito and Tata Tigor EVs.

Mahindra eKUV100 Design

In most cases, the series design of the EKUV100 closely resembles the KUV100 petrol variant car. The new closed grille for better aerodynamics with a small arrow-shaped insert can be seen as a differentiator here. In addition, the headlights and taillights have blue accents. There are also "+" and "-" symbols on the car's body. There are minor differences between the first images of eKUV and the launched one. The Expo model, in particular, has a different set of alloy wheels.


Mahindra eKUV100 Specs and features

The new Mahindra Electric car is equipped with a 15.9 kWh battery that powers one 54.4 hp electric motor and gives 120 Nm of torque. This car can be charged completely in 5 hours 45 minutes using a standard charger or 80% in 55 minutes using the quick charger. This provides a range of up to 150 kilometers, although carmakers are working on a battery upgrade to extend the range even further. It can seat up to 6 people. The company claims that the new eKUV100 has new connectivity features such as remote diagnosis, built-in pre-cooling, and real-time location detection. The electric sleek crossover can also monitor the driver's driving mode and status and charging of the car battery.

ORA R2 will enter the Indian market with a price range of Rs.10 lakhs. Ora R2 resembles in terms of features as ORA R1. This vehicle outperformed the ORA R1 with a 46 kW and 62 hp permanent magnet electric motor. In addition, ORA R2 is also equipped with a 33 kWh lithium polymer battery with a 400 km of autonomy. Mahindra will release the second electric car eKUV 100 and then Verito. It is equipped with a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 15.9 kWh and an autonomy of 150 km. In addition, the car's electric motor delivers a maximum power of 54.4 hp and 120 Nm of torque. It can take up to 6 hours to charge this car with a standard charger. At the same time, fast charging in 1 hour can charge upto 80%.
