Ola Electric Updates - New affordable e-scooter, Launch of Move OS 3.0 on October 22 & More

One of the most successful companies of electric vehicles (EV), Ola Electric recently announced that the company will launch a new variant of its Ola S1 range of electric scooters ahead of Diwali after announcing a fourfold increase in sales in the Navratra season.

About the new Ola e-scooter

Ola's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal took to Twitter to post an update on the upcoming e scooter, “Planning something BIG for our launch event this month! Will accelerate the #EndICEAge revolution by at least 2 years. Really excited”

As per the reports, the new version of the S1 will cost less than Rs 80,000 which can be considered the most affordable price range in this segment of electric scooters so far.

According to sources, the launch of the electric scooter is among the plans announced by CEO Bhavish Aggarwal during the festive season. In addition, this series of e-scooters is expected to be equipped with most of the advanced features of the Ola S1 variant but with a smaller battery pack of 3 kW as it runs on its own Ola MoveOS platform. It will give direct competition to 125cc scooters available in the market such as the TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access.

About the release of Move OS 3.0

Ola Electric is all set to release its Move OS 3.0 update this Diwali for both its anticipated scooters S1 and S1 Pro. The update adds many additional features to Move OS 2.0, which is currently installed on all existing Ola scooters. The company will upgrade its scooters with over-the-air (OTA) upgrades, eliminating the need for customers to visit a service center.

The newly launched OTA process will be expected to be gradual: scooters with OS 3.0 come with a contactless lock, hyper charging, call function, regenerative braking with version 2, hill hold, and key sharing. It will also be equipped with fun features like voice control and moods. The mood is a sound generated by an EV just like an ICE vehicle.

Hyper Charging will let your electric scooter run on a higher charging voltage, which shortens the charging time. The key-sharing feature allows the driver to temporarily access the scooter over the phone, and a keyless key will be similar to a car. The Hill Hold feature supports the rider to prevent the e-scooter from rolling backward and keeps it in place when encountered on a slope or uphill. One high-tech feature that comes with the O3 update is version 2 regenerative braking, which can have multiple regenerative modes. Its voice assistant feature lets you navigate, make calls, play your favorite music, and more. You can also talk to your S1 Pro through a Bluetooth pairing feature. The e-scooter user interface and dashboard will be available in different themes.

Ola Diwali Offer

Under the 'Navratri Special Discount Offer', Ola S1 Pro was being sold cheaper than its original price by Rs 10,000. Earlier this offer was going to be live till October 5, 2022, but in view of the increasing demand among customers, now the company has extended this offer. This offer is now going to be live till Diwali. Now you can buy this electric scooter for Rs 10,000 cheaper till Diwali 2022.
