Game On: Tata Punch EV Named Official Ride for 2024 Indian Premier League
The official vehicle for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024 will be the Tata Punch EV, which was revealed by Tata Motors, the league's proud title sponsor. In addition, this elegant addition to the Tata portfolio was designated as the official vehicle of the 2024 Women's Premier League (WPL).
Tata has had an incredible relationship with the Indian Premier League (IPL) throughout the years, actively participating in marketing campaigns that thrill fans with prizes and competitions. Notably, Tata has instituted the esteemed "Electric Striker" award, which honors exceptional on-field accomplishments. Furthermore, Tata has demonstrated a dedication to philanthropic endeavors, as seen by the incident in which RCB women's player Ellyse Perry struck the Punch EV's window. In response, Tata gave Rs 5 lakh to the Tata Memorial Hospital in Kolkata to install solar panels. As a heartfelt memento, Tata also gave Perry the car's smashed window.
Tata has a long history of supporting the IPL. Since the tournament's inception in 2018, they have unveiled legendary models including the Harrier, Safari, and Nexon as official vehicles. The Punch EV's launch highlights Tata's dedication to sustainability and innovation in both sports and autos as it gets ready to serve as the IPL title sponsor for a record third year.
Tata Punch EV
With some noticeable differences, the Tata Punch EV is quite similar to its conventional ICE predecessor. Notably, it has newly designed aerodynamic wheels and a sealed front grille that hides the charging outlet. Though it looks identical, the Punch EV is built on a different chassis designed for electric power.
Punch: Features
When getting inside, the Punch EV delivers a comfortable but stylish ride. Its inside is roomy enough to fit five people and has plenty of storage for freight in the back. It also has contemporary features. Included are a large 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, an illuminated Tata logo steering wheel with controls positioned on the steering wheel, and an HVAC panel with touch controls.
Punch: Specification
Punch EV comes with two different battery pack options: a bigger 35-kWh battery that is connected with a more powerful motor that produces 120 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque, or a smaller 25-kWh battery that is paired with a motor that generates 80 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. The lesser battery option is competitively positioned within the electric car sector, with a stated range of 315 km, while the bigger battery type promises an astonishing 421 km. Driving in real life usually delivers roughly two thirds of the stated range.
Sturdily constructed, the Punch EV has state-of-the-art safety systems to protect passengers. This includes six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) to help retain control during difficult maneuvers, ABS with EBD for improved braking performance, seat belt reminders, and pre-tensioners for extra safety.
Punch: Price
The Punch EV is priced between Rs 10.98 lakh and Rs 15.48 lakh (ex-showroom), directly competing with the Citroen eC3, MG Comet, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV. With tremendous anticipation for the IPL to begin, Tata Motors' partnership highlights the integration of sports and environmentally friendly mobility even more. As the official vehicle, the Punch EV leads the way as Tata pushes for the broad use of electric cars throughout India while sustaining its commitment to innovation and community involvement in the cricket world.
