Fact-Checking the Buzz: Is Hyundai EXTER the Electric Car? Decoding Jaskaran Singh's Crorepati Prize!
With the introduction of the Exter EV, Hyundai is making its mark in the hotly anticipated electric SUV market. The Hyundai Exter EV is about to enter India's market as a beginner electric vehicle in a substantial way. The Ioniq 5 and Kona Electric are two of Hyundai's anticipated electric vehicles (EVs) that are now available in India. Despite having an extensive global lineup that includes electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid cars, Hyundai's Exter EV marks the company's first foray into a particular market niche. It will face off against Tata's Punch EV, Citroen eC3, and MG Comet EV. The Exter EV is all set to go on sale in July 2023 with a starting price of Rs 6 lakh.
Hyundai EXTER Design
The Exter EV shares many visual characteristics with its non-electric version, with the exception of a few minor variations at the front and the distinctive electric logo. Some pictures even reveal brand-new wheels that emphasize the vehicle's electric nature. Some of the outstanding interior amenities from the regular Exter are still present, including a voice-activated sunroof, a dual-camera dashcam, and practical additions like paddle shifters which allow for clutch-free gear changes, AC vents at the rear, ambient footwell lighting, a wireless phone charger, multilingual compatibility (12 languages), and Alexa voice command integration.
With equipment like six standard airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, hill start assist, a rearview camera with dynamic guidance, electronic stability control, and vehicle stability management, it sets the bar for safety.
Hyundai EXTER Specification
Even though it is bigger, the Exter EV and Hyundai's Casper EV are similar in certain ways. It is projected to have a battery capacity of around 25 to 30 kWh which is the equivalent of the power unit in an electric car, giving it a range of 300 km to 350 km. This range is more than the 230 km of the MG Comet EV and comparable to the 320 km of the Citroen eC3. When it comes to range, the Exter EV is aiming to be on par with the upcoming Punch EV.
Hyundai EXTER Price
The pricing of the Punch's CNG model starts at Rs 7 lakhs, whereas the Exter CNG starts at Rs 8.23 lakhs, giving the Punch an edge over the ordinary Exter at this time. Hyundai needs to make sure that the Exter EV's pricing is well-considered and competitive if it wants to compete effectively.
Contestant Jaskaran Singh Triumphs on KBC, Secures ₹1 Crore Prize and a Hyundai Exter
Contestant Jaskaran Singh made history in the 15th season of the well-known show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) by becoming the first participant that season to win a staggering Rs 1 crore and a brand-new Hyundai Exter as an added bonus, which made the triumph much sweeter.
The route taken by Jaskaran to the Rs. 1 Cr question was interesting. He was asked, "Who was the Viceroy of India when the capital was transferred from Calcutta to Delhi?" Lord Curzon, Lord Hardinge, Lord Minto, and Lord Reading were the choices made available to him. Jaskaran thoroughly considered each alternative before settling on alternatives B and D. Jaskaran made the correct decision to use the "Double Dip" lifeline. He decided on option B, which in the end proved to be the right response. Jaskaran wisely decided to end the quiz at this point as he had already won the reward. He hasn't revealed the precise Hyundai Exter model he got.
