1. Zeon and Kempower come together for EV charging hubs.

Zeon Charging and Finland-based Kempower have joined hands to deploy EV charging hubs in India. The two companies plan to set-up a network of 20 EV charging hubs across the country. Kempower will supply state-of-the-art DC fast-charging hardware to EV charging sites operated by Zeon. Each site will feature 6-8 EV charging points. The setup will be modular, thereby providing flexibility to scale-up as demand grows, ensuring the charging infrastructure is future proof.

2. Ultraviolette starts exporting its electric superbike to Europe.

Electric motorcycle manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive flagged off its first batch of Made-in-India electric superbikes to Europe. Union Minister for Heavy Industries H D Kumaraswamy attended the flag-off ceremony held at the company's manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.

The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 features a 10.3 kWh battery pack, the largest in the country. Prices in India start at Rs 2.99 lakh.

3. Kazam to lead the development of a shared EV charging network for The Climate Pledge.

As part of The Climate Pledge, Kazam will lead the development of a shared EV charging station network. The first phase of the project is Bengaluru-based, with the first EV charging station, located in Doddakallasandra, already up & running.

4. Euler Motors forays into the commercial electric four-wheeler segment.

Commercial EV manufacturer Euler Motors has introduced Storm EV, a commercial electric four-wheeler, with two models for intercity & intracity use.

The Euler Storm EV Long Range 200 (intercity) is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh, and the Storm EV T1250 (intracity) is priced at Rs 8.99 lakh. The Storm EV long range variant is powered by a 30 kWh liquid-cooled battery, which gives a range of 200 km. With CCS2 fast charging capabilities, the long range variant can charge 100 km in 15 minutes of charging. The intracity variant comes with a 19 kWh battery, which gives a range of 140 km. With DC001 fast-charging protocol, the intracity variant can charge 100 km in 30 minutes of charging. Both models come with a 1250 kg payload capacity and industry-first Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology.

Euler Motors has invested Rs 100 crore in indigenously designing & developing the new product at its R&D facility at Palwal (Haryana), where it also has its manufacturing plant.

5. Karnataka State Government working on subsidies for EV consumers and manufacturers.

Karnataka state government is reportedly working on a new EV Policy aimed at boosting the state’s clean mobility sector for the next 5 years. There are reports that the proposed draft features significant incentives for both consumers & manufacturers. A key highlight of the upcoming policy can be the exemption of road tax for electric cars & strong hybrid cars priced under Rs 25 lakh. This decision is expected to stimulate demand across Karnataka by making electric cars more reasonable.

Karnataka is also planning to offer incentives of up to 25% on capital investments to EV and EV component manufacturers in the state. This will also be applicable to EV battery component manufacturers and EV charging gear manufacturers.
