3. Kanpur-based startup introduces wireless EV charging technology.

Simactricals, a startup incubated at IIT Kanpur, has developed a wireless EV charging technology that has the potential to revolutionize the electric vehicle industry.

The startup works towards making charging tech for drones. It came out with its first product a month ago. The product is a wireless charging solution for DRDO’s drones. The tech allows drones to land on specific pads and charge without any cables. The company has now developed a universal wireless charging system, which can also serve electric vehicles. The tech is ‘synchronous’ and bypasses the need for a battery interface that involves different connectors, thereby simplifying the charging process and removing a big roadblock for EV manufacturers & users. At present, the company is working with a couple of electric two & three-wheeler companies to further examine the applicability of its wireless charging tech.
