1. Terra Motors to invest Rs 50 crore to expand EV charging infrastructure in Tamil Nadu.
Terra Motors and the Tamil Nadu Government have joined hands to expand EV charging infrastructure in the state. Terra Motors will invest Rs 50 crore in the project. The company had forayed into the EV charging space last year under the name Terra Charge. This tie-up is expected to create considerable job opportunities, accelerate EV adoption and add to TN's green ambitions. This agreement was signed at the Global Investors Meet 2024.
Terra Motors is a Japanese EV company which has been operating in India since 2014. The company’s revenue has tripled in the last 10 years.
2. Green corridor in Himachal Pradesh gets 7 EV charging stations.
Himachal Pradesh Government’s Transport Department has set-up 7 public EV charging stations on the Kiratpur-Keylong green corridor. Tenders for setting-up 45 more stations along 5 proposed green corridors have also been floated. On the Kiratpur-Keylong green corridor, the 7 EV charging stations have been installed at Indian Oil petrol pumps. EV owners, travelling from Shimla and passing through Manali, will benefit from these charging stations.
The state government is offering 50% subsidy to private charge point operators (CPOs) for setting-up these stations. The state CM has also announced a ban on the procurement of petrol & diesel vehicles in state government departments this year onwards.
3. Bharat Petroleum partners with Trinity Cleantech to set-up EV charging points in Uttar Pradesh.
Bharat Petroleum and Hyderabad-based Trinity Cleantech have joined hands to install EV charging points for electric two & three-wheelers in Uttar Pradesh. Initially, the tie-up will be for 3 years, but it can be extended for another 2 years.
In the beginning, Trinity will set-up the EV chargers at BPCL petrol pumps in Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur & Agra. The company will be responsible for generating demand, managing consumer grievances, operating & maintaining the chargers.
4. ETO Motors deploys electric three-wheelers in Ayodhya.
Electric three-wheeler company ETO Motors has signed a contract with the Uttar Pradesh Government to deploy & manage 500 electric three-wheelers in the state. This includes cities such as Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Agra, Mathura & Gorakhpur. The company has commenced deployment in the state beginning from Ayodhya, which awaits the historic ceremony at the Ram Temple.
ETO Motors will also be working with Uber to leverage the latter’s ride-sharing feature.
5. PMI Electro Mobility delivers electric buses in Ayodhya.
PMI Electro Mobility has delivered 50 electric buses to Uttar Pradesh Government, which will ply in Ayodhya. The Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath flagged-off the e-buses at the Ayodhya Dham Bus Station. These buses will run within city limits to provide eco-friendly public transport to the visiting pilgrims.
To manage the electric bus operations in the city, the ‘Ayodhya City Bus Transportation Ltd’ has been set-up by the government.
