1. Charzer collaborates with Nirman Developers (Pune).
Charzer has joined hands with Pune-based Nirman Developers. Under the partnership, Charzer will install and maintain EV charging stations across all residential & commercial properties of the real estate developer. The charging stations will be accessible to outside visitors as well. Through the Charzer app, EV users will be able to book slots for charging and make e-payments. Initially, Charzer will install EV chargers at Nirman Altius at Kharadi and Nirman Vishnubaug at Model Colony in Pune.
2. New EV charging stations to be installed in Kozhikode (Kerala).
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) will open 7 EV charging stations in Kozhikode. With this the total number of charging stations installed by KSEB at Kozhikode will be 17.
Kozhikode’s first solar-powered EV charging station was inaugurated three months ago. A 50kW solar power system was installed at the charging station. A 142kW charger which can charge 2 cars simultaneously, a 10kW charger which can charge 3 e-rickshaws simultaneously and a 1.5kW charger for electric two-wheelers were installed at this hub.
3. Tirex to supply EV chargers to Indian Oil.
Gujarat-based Tirex Transmission has won a contract from Indian Oil to set up EV chargers at its petrol pumps. The company had bagged a contract from Hindustan Petroleum to supply EV chargers three months ago. Tirex has already supplied EV chargers to organizations like NTPC, KSEBL, Power Grid, Ashok Leyland, Fortum, Olectra and Adani. The company will supply 25 DC fast-chargers for this Indian Oil project.
4. ASDC to introduce program to upskill technicians for EV industry.
The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) has signed an agreement with Research Triangle Institute (RTI) to upskill technicians with the aim to develop EV-ready workforce. The skilling programme will include two technical training courses: EV repair & service technician and EV charging station attendant. The training modules will help upskill technicians to generate employment opportunities and create skilled manpower for India’s EV industry. The courses will be offered at Pithapur Raja’s Government College, Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh). If the program is received well, the Automotive Skills Development Council will offer the same in other cities.
5. Bengaluru-based startup to launch advanced electric two-wheeler.
Bengaluru-based EV startup ‘iGowise Mobility’ is planning to launch its electric two-wheeler ‘Trigo BX4’ soon. Expected price for the Trigo BX4 is between Rs.1.1-1.2 lakh and it will feature a 145 km range and a top speed of 75 km/hr. The company said the new product is designed to bridge the gap between a car’s comfort & safety and a two-wheeler’s convenience & ease of parking. The product has been conceptualised, designed and manufactured in India by Indian engineers, keeping in mind Indian road conditions and usage patterns.
It features a 6-inch display and ‘smart’ charging. With a 15-Amp hyper-fast onboard charger, that can be plugged to any port, it allows users the flexibility to fast charge when required and switch to relaxed mode otherwise. The company said that the first 5000 customers will get benefits like extended warranty, free accessories and guaranteed buy-back.
6. Assam to procure 200 electric buses.
In line with the Central Government’s call for only Electric Vehicles on road by 2030, the state government of Assam will procure 200 electric buses. The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has signed an agreement with Olectra Greentech to procure 100 electric buses. These buses will have a range of 165 km and will travel intercity. These will cost the state government over Rs.1 crore each. The process to procure an additional 100 low-end electric buses, with a range of 120 km, is also underway.
The ASTC, in collaboration with Assam Gas Company, is also setting up five EV charging stations at Rupnagar, ISBT & Baihata (Guwahati), Jagiroad (Morigaon) and Mirza (Kamrup).
