Automotive components manufacturer Uno Minda has joined hands with StarCharge Energy to manufacture wall-mounted AC chargers in India. Automakers usually offer these chargers along with electric vehicles for home EV charging.
StarCharge is known for its EV charging & microgrid solutions. The company is present in 67 countries and has manufacturing units in China, US & Vietnam.
Shares of Uno Minda jumped 3% after this news was announced. In the past six months, the company’s stock has gained around 15%.
2. Tata Power installs EV charging points in and around Ayodhya.
Tata Power has collaborated with Ayodhya Development Authority to install EV charging points in and around the holy city. These charging points have been installed along important sections of highways such as Ayodhya to Lucknow (via NH 27), Ayodhya to Raebareli (via NH 330), Ayodhya to Prayagraj (via NH 330) and Ayodhya to Gorakhpur (via NH 27). 3. Maruti Suzuki to offer its first electric car through NEXA showrooms.
Maruti Suzuki, aiming to launch its first electric car in 2025, will offer the vehicle through its premium dealership channel: NEXA. The company had introduced the NEXA brand in 2015.
The eVX electric SUV will be the automaker’s first EV in the country. It will feature a 60 kWh battery offering a range of 550km. The electric car has been designed & developed by Suzuki (Japan). It will be manufactured in India and the company has plans to export its Made-in-India EVs to Europe.

Tata Power is strategically positioning EV charging stations near cricket grounds which are hosting IPL matches. The company aims to provide seamless EV charging services to match attendees. Tata Power has placed its EV charging stations near all major IPL-hosting venues, to ensure a convenient charging experience for EV users.
IPL fans can access these public charging stations 24/7 in all IPL-hosting cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur and Visakhapatnam (Vizag). Through the Tata Power EZ Charge app, EV owners can locate nearby charging points, book slots, monitor charging and pay online, thereby ensuring a seamless charging experience. 5. Nissan announces its future course of action.
Japanese automaker Nissan plans to launch 16 electric cars in the coming years, worldwide. The company will make India a hub for exports under its new global business plan. As part of its new strategy, Nissan’s global management aims to export around 50% of the total volume manufactured in India. Nissan is targeting volume growth through a tailored regional strategy, and lay groundwork for an accelerated transition to electrification.
Nissan’s electric car ‘Ariya’ was spotted testing in India in November 2023. If launched, the Ariya will be Nissan’s first electric car in India and will go up against the likes of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 & Kia EV6.
