1. Tata Power collaborates with real estate player JLL India.
Tata Power has signed an agreement with JLL India to promote green energy solutions in the real estate sector. As per the agreement, both the companies will jointly evaluate opportunities across projects of JLL India’s clients to extend Tata Power’s green energy solutions.
Tata Power will encourage e-mobility by providing renewable energy powered-EV chargers. This will include installation and annual maintenance. EV users will be able to connect through the ‘Tata Power EZ Charge’ mobile app for EV charging monitoring and e-payment facilities.
The company will also install solar rooftops at properties of JLL India’s clients.
2. Government of India planning an EV Super App.
Government of India is planning to launch a ‘super app’ pertaining to the EV ecosystem. The app is expected to be a one-stop platform for EV users, which will provide detailed information about public charging stations, locations, enabling reservations at the stations, etc.
Important details such as slot availability, type of charger & tariffs will also be shown in the app.
The government has tasked the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) with a part of the work. Apart from BEE, Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL) has been given the task of collecting information from the private sector. The app is expected to show information shared by OEMs that will help enhance visibility and increase traffic at private charging points.
3. Tata Power installs EV charging station at Hotel Taj Vivanta in Dwarka (New Delhi).
Hotel Taj Vivanta in Dwarka (New Delhi) has introduced EV charging at their property by installing a Tata Power charging station.
The station can charge 4 cars at a time. It consists of 3 AC type 2 chargers with a power rating of 7.4kW each and 1 CCS 2 gun with a power rating of 50kW for faster charging.
The Hotel is located at Dwarka Sector 21 in New Delhi.
4. Ratan Tata-backed Repos Energy looking to raise funds for EV charging business expansion.
Pune-based startup Repos Energy is looking to raise Rs.300 crores to expand its stationary & mobile EV charging business. Repos is partially backed by Ratan Tata.
The company’s EV charging business uses energy generated from organic waste and recycled batteries. Repos has outlined two phases for its EV charging business. In the 1st phase, the company will deploy stationary EV charging stations, which will be powered by energy generated from organic waste. In the 2nd phase, recycled batteries will be mounted on vehicles that will be used to charge EVs at customer’s doorstep.
A part of the newly raised funds will also be used for the roll-out of the company’s on-site fuel dispenser service ‘Datum’.
5. Pawan Munjal picks up stake in EV charging startup Exponent Energy.
Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Hero MotoCorp, has participated in the latest funding round of Bangalore-based EV charging startup ‘Exponent Energy’. The company plans to use these funds to expand its EV charging network across the country. The family office of Pawan Munjal has invested an undisclosed amount in the company.
Exponent Energy is planning to set up 100 EV charging stations in Bengaluru. The company has tied up with Altigreen Propulsion Labs to enter the fast charging segment as well.
Exponent Energy & Reliance backed-Altigreen unveiled India's fastest charging electric three-wheeler that charges from 0-100% in 15 mins. This Altigreen EV is powered by an 8.19 kWh battery made by Exponent. The 3-wheeler is named 'neEV HD'. The fast charger is shown in the picture below.
Established in 2020 by former Ather employees, Exponent is involved in EV charging stations & battery packs.
6. EV charging begins at Mangalore Airport.
Mangaluru International Airport has operationalised an electric vehicle charging station for internal & public use. The station has two 60kW CCS 2 type guns where two EVs can be charged simultaneously. The airport is also planning to install one more charging station. The station is set up & operated by Adani Total. Potential users should download ATGL (Adani Total Gas Ltd) EV App for advance booking of slot.
Mangaluru Airport had recently procured 2 electric vehicles for internal operations at the airport. There are plans to procure an electric bus and another electric car.
