1. Tata Power installs 4 EV chargers at Kolkata Airport.
Tata Power has installed four EV charging points at the Kolkata Airport. The chargers installed include CCS2 DC & GB/T chargers. These charging points are compatible with all electric cars available in the country.
A press release by Tata Power stated: “The site selection for these charging stations underwent meticulous planning, prioritizing convenience & accessibility for EV users who commute to the airport.”
2. Shuzlan Energy partners with Transvolt Mobility to provide EV charging services.
Mumbai-based Shuzlan Energy has joined hands with Transvolt Mobility to provide EV Charging Point Operator (CPO) infrastructure for 1000 electric buses.
These EV chargers will be strategically installed throughout the country, starting with Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation-operated depot in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This EV charging hub will power 57 electric public transport buses. As per plans, 350 CPOs will get installation consignments of EV charging stations on a fixed income basis, within the next 12 months.
3. CRED launches bespoke vehicle management platform CRED Garage.
‘Members-Only’ credit card bill payment platform CRED has launched a personalized vehicle management service ‘CRED Garage’. Through a convenient dashboard, members will get 24/7 priority access to concierge service, reminder notifications, document management & expenditure insights. Members can find CRED Garage on the home page of the CRED app and add their vehicles for a rewarding vehicle management experience. CRED will also give provide offers, rewards, deals (on motor insurance) & member-exclusive perks. The service is open for customers with 750+ credit scores.
CRED is also in talks with EV companies to work out deals & offerings for the platform with respect to electric vehicles & EV charging.
4. Adani EV charging arm conducts survey in Amritsar.
A team from Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Ltd recently conducted a survey in Amritsar city to install EV charging stations.
The EV charging stations will be installed at busy spots to charge electric autos. Under the ‘Rejuvenation of Auto-Rickshaws in Amritsar through Holistic Intervention’ (RAAHI) scheme of Amritsar Smart City, the municipal corporation is offering a subsidy of Rs 1.40 lakh on replacing old diesel autos with e-autos. The installation of EV charging stations in the city is also a part of the RAAHI scheme.
5. Electric vehicle industry startups NIKOL EV & Raptee raise funds.
NIKOL EV: Angel investor community ‘We Founder Circle’ has announced investment in EV charging startup NIKOL EV, through the community’s startup accelerator program EvolveX. The investment will be utilized by NIKOL EV to increase its workforce and strengthen backend support for business operations & expansion. The startup is also working on a hybrid charger capable of charging two, three & four-wheelers simultaneously and a part of the funding will be allocated for its testing & certification.
Nikol EV is building an EV charging network. Its full-stack mobile app allows EV users to locate, book & review charging stations, and make secure payments for charging sessions.
Raptee: Chennai-based electric motorcycle manufacturing startup Raptee has raised $3 million (approx Rs 25 crore) in a funding round led by early stage funding platform Bluehill Capital. The funding will be used for upgrades at the company’s manufacturing unit and expanding its workforce. The company’s manufacturing unit is in Chennai, spread across 3 acres, which will serve as its primary production plant for the next 2 years. This facility will also house the company’s R&D department.
In March 2023, Raptee received a grant from ARAI, the leading authority for automobiles in India, for design & development of a 'high-voltage powertrain'. The startup has filed 45 patents and claims that it will be the country’s 1st electric two-wheeler company to introduce high-voltage drivetrain tech, with an on-board charger, that will be compatible with CCS2 public charging network. Raptee’s 1st electric motorcycle is expected to arrive in Q1 2024, with two outlets in Bengaluru & Chennai. The company will expand to 8 more cities by the end of 2024.
