1. Statiq to install EV chargers at 17 malls.
Gurugram-based startup Statiq has teamed up with Nexus Malls to set up EV chargers in the parking lots of their 17 malls across India. Nexus has 17 malls across 13 cities such as Chandigarh, Udaipur, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Indore, etc. These new charging hubs in the mall parking lots will have slow and fast chargers for electric 2, 3 & 4-wheelers.
Recently, Statiq raised Rs.200 crores in Series A funding. The company has also tied-up with Hero Electric and collaborated with Ather to work together for expanding EV charging network in North India.
2. Evigo to set up EV charging points at a tech park in Pune.
EV charging startup ‘Evigo’ has entered into an agreement with Panchshil Tech Park (Pune) to set up electric EV charging stations at Panchshil premises for general public. The two parties have signed a revenue sharing agreement for a period of 10 years. Evigo is a subsidiary of Marine Electricals.
3. Ather and its ambitious plans for EV, battery and charging network expansion.
Ather Energy has increased its annual production by around four times to 4.20 lakh EVs through its newly inaugurated facility in Hosur (Tamil Nadu), with an investment of Rs.320 crores. Along with the EV capacity expansion, Ather is increasing its annual battery manufacturing capacity to 4.3 lakh units from 1.2 lakh units. Ather is also planning to expand its EV charging network to 1400 units by end of the current financial year. At present, the company has 600 charging points.
4. Delta Electronics India proposes a unique ‘full-service charging station’.
Delta Electronics began operations in India in 2003 and is now planning to invest heavily in EV charging solutions. Delta Electronics has already deployed 7000 EV charging stations across India.
Niranjan Nayak, MD, Delta Electronics India, recently stated the model being followed by Delta Electronics in Yokohama (Japan), where the Delta EV charging station is a full-service smart charging station. The station has Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and the batteries are charged during off-peak hours. While the EVs are being charged, customers can use their time to charge their smartphone, laptop, etc while having coffee and snacks. This is their full-service energy-universal charging station. Mr.Nayak thinks that future Delta charging stations in India will follow the Yokohama model.
Delta has also signed an agreement to supply 1000 rapid (up to 350 kW) EV chargers to EVgo, the largest public EV charging operator in the US. The company has four manufacturing facilities in India: Rudrapur (Uttarakhand), Gurugram (Haryana), Hosur (Tamil Nadu) and Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu), that cater to the company's export markets.
5. MS Dhoni buys a Kia EV6.
Former Team India captain MS Dhoni has purchased an electric car: the Kia EV6. He was spotted in his new car along with fellow cricketers Kedar Jadhav & Ruturaj Gaikwad. Dhoni has an impressive automobile collection, which includes a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Hummer H2, Nissan Jonga & Audi Q7. He also owns two sports cars: a Porsche 911 & a Ferrari 599 GTO.

The EV6 is powered by a 77.4 kWh battery pack which offers a range of 528 km. The battery supports ultra-fast charging and can be recharged up to 80% in 18 minutes while using a 350kW rapid charger.
