1. Adani Electricity introduces cost-effective EV charging solution for housing societies.

Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd has launched a new initiative for housing societies, called ‘Share Charge’, a cost-effective EV charging solution. Adani Electricity will roll-out 8500 such chargers at 4000 housing societies across Mumbai suburbs. This optimized EV charging solution eliminates the need for separate chargers & complex wiring, thus streamlining installation & minimizing disruption for residents.

Share Charge will be app-driven and customers will be able to schedule charging sessions, monitor usage and pay online. The company has already implemented 240 such systems in Mumbai.

2. IIT Delhi announces an EV and EV charging course.

IIT-Delhi has announced the launch of a certificate program focused on EVs and EV charging. The 5-month online course will teach students the necessary skills to succeed in India’s thriving EV industry. The program includes modules like fundamentals of electric vehicles, EV charging infrastructure, motors, battery tech, communication & security and protection of EV chargers.

The course will be conducted online and delivered in a ‘direct-to-device’ (D2D) mode. The enrolled students will also get to experience the premier institute during a one-day immersion program.

3. Mahindra comes together with Adani for EV charging infrastructure.

Mahindra has joined hands with Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Ltd to establish EV charging infrastructure across the country.

The partnership aims to provide Mahindra’s XUV400 EV customers and forthcoming electric SUVs, access to more than 1100 chargers across the country, via Mahindra’s BlueSense Plus app.

4. Statiq and GLIDA (Fortum) join hands for EV charging services.

Statiq and GLIDA (formerly known as Fortum Charge & Drive India) have come together to make EV charging services more accessible for electric vehicle users across India. The tie-up allows all GLIDA public EV charging stations to be visible on the Statiq app. EV users will benefit from this partnership by means of seamless interoperability between Statiq & GLIDA charging stations, enabling access without the need of multiple apps for charging. Awadhesh Kumar Jha, Executive Director, GLIDA, gave a statement on this partnership: “This unique collaboration opens newer avenues for users to seamlessly discover, access & conveniently experience charging on GLIDA’s all-India network facilitated through the Statiq app as well, besides its own app.”

Statiq’s strategy is to collaborate with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to help new & existing EV users access an extensive charging network and eliminate the problem of using multiple apps and maintaining balance in them. The company even allows its ‘Statiq Credits’ to be seamlessly used across all partner CPOs.

5. US-based EV charging company EVgo introduces prefabricated EV charging station.

EVgo, which operates a public fast-charging network for EVs in the United States, has announced the inauguration of its 1st prefabricated EV charging station in Texas. The station will serve as the ‘original’ in a series of upcoming stations expected to be launched throughout the year, using the same assembling technique. EVgo's prefabrication model is expected to reduce construction costs by 15% and installation time by 50%.

The newly-inaugurated fast-charging station features 350 kW high-capacity fast chargers capable of charging multiple electric cars simultaneously and has additional amenities like wi-fi, LED lighting and security cameras.

Upcoming stations will also have solar power generating canopies. The scalable design focuses on expanding EV charger count by using a modular skid at the station layout. The power cabinets are pre-assembled before being transported to the site.

The company will set-up similar prefabricated charging stations in the states of Florida, Nebraska, North Carolina & California throughout 2024.
