1. Terra Charge ready to launch its fast EV charger ‘TAKA’.
Terra Charge is preparing to launch its new 30 kW EV charger ‘TAKA’ on 1st August. TAKA has been designed for electric cars and will be priced at Rs 4.2 lakh. The new EV charger is 100% Made-in-India. The company plans to deploy 100 TAKA chargers across North India by the end of 2024.
The charger comes with a metal body and IP54 protection. It features advanced connectivity options like OCPP 1.6J, GSM 4G and WiFi. The company's Japanese R&D team was closely involved in TAKA’s development process.
2. Servotech arm ‘INCHARZ’ to set-up EV charging stations for Noida-based builder.
INCHARZ, a unit of Servotech Power Systems, has signed an agreement with real estate player Prateek Group. The agreement involves setting-up EV charging stations at shortlisted sites. Incharz will design, install and operate these charging stations at the builder’s properties. The charging stations will feature both AC and DC charging points.
Sunil Kumar Mittal, President of Prateek Group, gave a statement: “This initiative will not only benefit the EV owners but also encourage other families living in the complexes & nearby residents to switch to EVs.” The Prateek Group has residential & commercial properties in Noida & Ghaziabad.
3. Porsche introduces 2 new variants of the Macan EV in India.
Porsche has introduced two new variants of its electric SUV ‘Macan EV’. The new variants, the entry-level RWD & the 4S, will be priced at Rs 1.22 crore & Rs 1.39 crore respectively. The base RWD model comes with a 100 kWh battery paired with a single electric motor. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 5.7 seconds and the top speed is 220 km/hr. The mid-spec 4S variant will also come with a 100 kWh battery, but with two electric motors. It goes from 0-100 km/hr in 4.1 seconds and attain a top speed of 240 km/hr. The top ‘Turbo’ variant is already in the market. It comes with a 100 kWh battery & a dual-motor setup. The Turbo model goes from 0-100 km/hr in just 3.3 seconds and tops at 260 km/hr. It is priced at Rs 1.69 crore.
All variants come with 800 V charging architecture which allows charging via 270 kW rapid chargers. Using this, the Macan EV battery can be charged up to 80% in 21 minutes. The company has also added a new ‘Slate Grey Neo’ exterior colour option for all Macan EV variants. Bookings for the new variants are now open.
The Macan EV competes with BMW iX, Mercedes EQE SUV & Audi Q8 e-tron in the Indian market.
4. Krishna Maruti Group joins hands with Turkish EV charging company Vestel.
Shloka Enterprises, a subsidiary of Krishna Maruti Group, has signed an agreement with Vestel Mobility, the EV charging arm of Turkish appliance maker Vestel International. Vestel Mobility specializes in EV chargers and battery energy storage solutions (BESS).
As per the agreement, the two companies will collaborate to bring Vestel’s EV charging solutions & energy storage systems to the Indian market.
5. Citroen India to supply 500 eC3 electric cars to Refex Group.
Citroen India has signed an agreement with Refex Green Mobility, and will supply 500 units of its eC3 electric car to the latter.
Refex Green Mobility, under the brand ‘Refex eVeelz’, operates an all-electric fleet of cars and provides environment-friendly transport solutions for corporate employees and at the Bangalore International Airport. The company will deploy these electric cars in its Bengaluru & Chennai fleets.
