1. ZETWERK secures ARAI certification for its EV chargers.
ZETWERK, a contract manufacturing marketplace, has secured ARAI approval for its 60 kW & 120 kW DC fast chargers. ZETWERK has already secured contracts to supply these chargers to Indian Oil. Under this agreement, ZETWERK plans to install 1400 dual gun fast chargers at Indian Oil petrol pumps throughout India.
Apart from this, ZETWERK is investing in R&D to expand its product offerings and introduce ‘Super DC Chargers’ with capacities of 240 kW & 360 kW.
2. Terra Charge to set-up EV charging station at Bhopal Airport.
EV charging infra company Terra Charge is partnering with Raja Bhoj International Airport in Bhopal to install an EV ‘park & charge’ facility at the airport parking. The charging facility will occupy an area of 75 sq m and serve up to 4 EVs simultaneously.
The EV charging station will be compatible with electric two, three & four-wheelers. General public & commercial EV fleet owners will have 24/7 access to the charging facility.
3. EaseMyTrip announces electric bus manufacturing subsidiary.
Travel tech company EaseMyTrip has announced an electric bus manufacturing subsidiary, ‘Easy Green Mobility’. This subsidiary will manufacture electric buses, and YoloBus (another EaseMyTrip subsidiary) will serve as a bus operator. The buses will be supplied to YoloBus as well as external clients. EaseMyTrip will invest Rs 200 crore in R&D, product development & setting-up a manufacturing plant in the next 2-3 years. Easy Green Mobility will manufacture advanced e-buses with energy-efficient battery packs designed for long-range travel on a single charge.
This announcement by the company led to a big jump in its stock prices. Easy Trip Planners shares closed 10% higher.
4. Indian hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh presented with a Tata Curvv EV.
Tata Motors recently honoured PR Sreejesh, the goalkeeper of the Indian hockey team that won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Sreejesh, also called 'The Wall' courtesy his goalkeeping skills, played a vital role in helping India secure the bronze medal.
Sreejesh was presented with the newly launched Tata Curvv EV at the inauguration of an EV-only Tata Motors showroom in Kochi. The Curvv EV’s coupe styling has caught everyone’s eye and the electric SUV has been trending ever since its launch.
5. Ola Electric getting ready to launch the Raahi passenger electric three-wheeler.
Ola Electric is gearing up to introduce an electric three-wheeler, following the success of its electric scooters. At present, Ola's passenger electric three-wheeler ‘Raahi’ (which means ‘traveller’ in hindi) is undergoing rigorous testing before its launch. The three-wheeler has also been spotted testing for the first time in Bengaluru. It is expected to come with a high-capacity battery that will cover long distances on a single charge.
The company plans to include several industry-first features in the electric auto. There are rumours that it may have an air-conditioning system as well. Ola Electric may launch the auto within the next three months. After Raahi, Ola may also introduce a cargo variant of the three-wheeler.
