Ola Electric has been working on electric motorcycles for some time now. Last year, the company unveiled four concept electric bikes: Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster & Cruiser. This segment poses a tough challenge for Ola as electric motorcycles make up only a small percentage of total motorcycle sales in India. With the Roadster, Ola Electric is aiming to disrupt the Indian bike market. Delivery of the Roadster X & Roadster will begin from January 2025 while the Roadster Pro will be available from Diwali next year. Pre-bookings of all 3 variants have begun.

5. Chinese EV company Zeekr announces world’s fastest charging battery.
Chinese EV brand Zeekr has recently claimed that its battery can charge faster than Tesla’s. Zeekr is a subsidiary of Chinese multinational automobile manufacturer Geely. The company claims its new battery can be charged at its ultrafast charging stations from 10-80% in just 10 and a half minutes. In comparison, the Tesla Model 3 takes 15 minutes at the company’s Supercharger to recharge up to 175 miles (282 km) which is around half of the car’s full range.
Zeekr’s upcoming ‘007’ electric sedan will be the first of its EVs to feature this advanced LFP battery. Like its compatriot BYD, Zeekr too is seeking to expand globally. Announcing an electric car that can be charged in almost the same time it takes to fill up a fuel-powered car’s tank is definitely a smart way to enter new markets.
