1. Jio-BP to provide EV charging solutions to Citroen India.
Jio-BP has joined hands with Citroën India to set up EV charging infrastructure. Jio-BP will install DC fast-chargers at Citroën’s dealership network and service stations across the country. These chargers will also be open to non-Citroen customers. This partnership also allows Citroen customers accessibility to Jio-BP’s EV charging network via ‘My Citroen Connect’ app.
Citroën’s electric hatchback ‘eC3’ is set to launch and will compete with Tata Tiago EV.
2. Pune-based Quench Chargers to also be manufactured at the US.
Quench Chargers, which are manufactured in Pune, will now also be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility in Connecticut (United States). Quench chargers are available in 30 kW, 60-120 kW and 180-240 kW capacities. The chargers will initially be sent as CKD (completely knocked down) kits from India for local assembly in the American plant. Gradually the chargers will be localized with American-made components.
Quench had launched its hyper charger ‘The Tallboy’ in October 2022, which offers one of the fastest charging experiences in India (180-240 kW).
3. New EV charging stations in 3 Maharashtra cities.
Navi Mumbai:
Maharashtra’s electricity distribution company ‘Mahavitaran’ has installed 12 EV charging stations at various places in Navi Mumbai. These stations have been set up on main roads for easy access to motorists.
Nashik:
The Nashik Municipal Corporation will install 52 EV charging stations in the city by March 2023. The civic body has identified installation sites. Funds for the same are being provided by National Clean Air Programme (N-CAP) & UNDP.
Pune:
ARAI launched a 100 kW DC fast-charger for electric cars & buses in Pune. The charger was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Heavy Industries, Mahendra Nath Pandey.
4. Bharat Petroleum launches a café at multifuel outlet in Uttarakhand.
Bharat Petroleum has inaugurated its first café ‘BeCafe - Brewing Journeys’, at a highway petrol pump located in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. The café is the first of the proposed 20 BeCafé’s that are scheduled to come up in strategic outlets in North India along prominent highways. The public sector company is aiming to grow sustainably while staying relevant to the highway consumer by offering a differentiated customer experience around fuel and food & beverages. The outlet now has a cafe, EV charging infrastructure, CNG, parking facilities and conventional fuel for highway motorists.
5. GAIL CNG stations in Bangalore to get Tata Power EV charging stations.
Tata Power has signed an agreement with GAIL (Gas Authority of India Ltd) to install DC fast-charging stations at two of GAIL’s CNG stations in Bengaluru. Raman Chadha, CEO, GAIL said, ”We have always been focusing on a futuristic fuel mission and this EV charging facility at our CNG station is yet another step in this direction.”
