1. ThunderPlus launches ‘Charger Lagao Paisa Kamao’ initiative.
Trinity Cleantech’s EV charging brand ThunderPlus has launched an initiative called ‘Charger Lagao Paisa Kamao’ which aims at helping people turn their homes into income-generating EV charging stations. The initiative is particularly focused on supporting women & the differently abled, offering them a steady source of side income. The initiative takes inspiration from the PCO business. ThunderPlus plans to convert homes to EV charging stations with its 3.3kW EV charger, which is compatible with electric two, three & four-wheelers. The IP67-certified EV charger’s sturdy design offers protection against dust, rain & sun, ensuring it works well at covered places as well as exposed walls.
ThunderPlus claims that a single EV charger can earn people up to Rs 15,000 per month, and at high-traffic areas, deploying 3 chargers can generate up to Rs 50,000 per month. The 3.3kW charger has been priced at Rs 9999. The company is also working on partnering with government & non-government bodies, and CSR organizations to benefit women and the differently abled.
2. Flipkart announces achievement of a significant milestone in EV deployment.
Flipkart has announced deployment of 10,000 EVs in its last-mile delivery fleet. The e-commerce giant aims to have a 100% electric last-mile fleet by 2030. On the occasion, Hemant Badri, SVP (Supply Chain & Customer Experience) at Flipkart stated: “By pairing our expanded EV fleet with critical investments in charging infrastructure, we are not only driving operational excellence, but also setting a benchmark for sustainable practices in the industry at large.”
Flipkart has joined hands with Adani to set-up 38 dedicated EV charging sites, featuring a total of 190 EV chargers across multiple cities. The company also mentioned that the adoption of EVs has resulted in heightened operational efficiency, lowering the cost per order at the hub level and improvement of last-mile delivery speed by 20% compared to fuel-powered delivery vehicles.
3. With EV charging infrastructure in mind, UP government sets-up ‘UPREV’.
To encourage the use of electric vehicles and improve the state’s EV charging infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh government has set-up the ‘Uttar Pradesh Renewable and EV Infrastructure Limited’ (UPREV). Under this, the UP government will establish a network of EV charging stations in the state. These charging stations will come up in major cities of the state and national & state highways. Public Private Partnership (PPP) model will be used to attract private investment and accelerate the development of the charging network.
The government has also announced allowing state land to be used for EV charging stations on a ‘right-to-use’ basis. After this, EV charging stations are expected to come up at discom offices, substations and other public places. Also, the state government, through UPREV, is planning to avail a subsidy of Rs 2000 crore under the PM E-Drive scheme to set-up even more charging stations.
4. Omega Seiki Mobility opens new showroom in Delhi.
EV manufacturer Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) recently inaugurated a new showroom in Okhla (Delhi), which will showcase the company’s cargo & passenger electric three-wheelers.
Apart from sales, the showroom will also provide after-sales service & EV charging facility.
5. UP CM Yogi Adityanath flags-off the state’s 1st double-decker electric bus.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath flagged-off the state’s first double-decker electric bus in Lucknow. The bus has been manufactured by Switch Mobility (a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland). The CM also made two announcements for women passengers at the event: 50% discount on tickets for women passengers traveling in the double decker electric bus & free travel for women on the heritage route in the morning trip every Saturday.
All passengers will also be provided with a 10% discount on online payments.
