1. Tata Power joins hands with Zoomcar to provide EV charging support.

Tata Power has announced a partnership with car sharing & rental platform Zoomcar. Through this collaboration, Tata Power EV charging points will be promoted within the Zoomcar network, offering charging support to Zoomcar's clientele.

Tata Power’s CEO and MD Praveer Sinha gave a statement: "As India's leading EV charging infrastructure provider, we are constantly collaborating with industry partners such as Zoomcar to develop a technologically advanced & robust EV ecosystem in the country."

Post the announcement of this tie-up, Tata Power shares registered a new high of Rs 252.75 on BSE.

Zoomcar has over 20,000 cars on its platform across India, Indonesia and Egypt.

2. Adani ties-up with Evera Cabs to set-up EV charging hubs.

Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility has joined hands with Prakriti E-Mobility (Evera Cabs) to set-up & operate EV fast-charging hubs for the company’s electric cabs. The highlight of this collaboration will be a 200 charging point mega hub near Delhi airport. This partnership will be scaled throughout India in phases.

Suresh Manglani, CEO (Adani Total Gas Ltd), gave a statement: “We are excited to join hands with Evera in developing this prestigious project in the Delhi NCR region. We are already engaged with Evera for operating its cluster hub at Okhla, Delhi. The upcoming hub is strategically located in close proximity to the Delhi International Airport and will support Evera to provide green rides to customers. The project includes commissioning of approximately 200 EV charging points, which will be a combination of AC & DC chargers.”

The EV charging hub will be open for other aggregators and individual EV owners as well.

3. After the success of iQube, TVS launches its second electric scooter.

TVS Motors has launched its second electric scooter in India. The new ‘TVS X’ is the production version of the TVS Creon concept. Based on an all-new platform, the TVS X sports a 4.44 kWh battery pack which gives a range of 140 km. The X is claimed to be the most powerful electric scooter in the segment, which gives an acceleration of 0- 40 km/hr in just 2.6 seconds and a sustained top speed of 105 km/hr.

The scooter features a 10.2 inch full HD touchscreen, the largest in this class.

TVS X will be available at an introductory price of Rs 2,49,990. Bookings are open on the TVS Motors website. Deliveries will begin November 2023 onwards. The first 2000 units of the TVS X will feature a ‘First Edition’ badge.

4. Assam and Tripura surprise everyone with impressive EV penetration figures.

In response to a question in the Rajya Sabha regarding the growth of EVs in India, the Heavy Industries Ministry presented data which showed surprising figures. The North-Eastern states of Assam & Tripura have achieved the 2nd & 3rd highest EV penetration rates in the country! Delhi secured the top spot.

Companies such as Greaves (Ampere), Pure EV, Okaya EV and E-Sprinto, are giving special emphasis to expand their dealerships in the Northeast states. Greaves Electric Mobility, the manufacturer of Ampere electric scooters, plans to open 100 new showrooms in the Northeastern states. Delhi-based startup ‘e-Sprinto’ is inaugurating 10 showrooms in Assam in August 2023.

Okaya EV plans to open 50 new showrooms in the next 2 years in Assam & Tripura. Electric scooter & motorcycle manufacturer Pure EV has received good response for its vehicles in the northeastern markets. The company is going to open a new showroom in Guwahati shortly, which will be its 3rd dealership in the northeast. Pure EV also has presence in Manipur.

5. Shell India signs MoU with Gujarat government.

Shell India has signed an agreement with the state government of Gujarat to invest Rs 3500 crore in the state. As per the agreement, Shell will set-up a renewable energy generation plant in Banaskantha district.

Shell will also invest Rs 800 crore in the state to set-up petrol pumps and EV charging stations.
