1. Statiq announces partnership with logistics company Bluwheelz.
EV charging company Statiq has announced a strategic partnership with logistics player Bluwheelz to support the latter’s first-mile & mid-mile delivery operations.
The two companies will jointly work on crucial inter-city routes and set-up EV charging infrastructure at key spots. The partnership will also explore deploying solar-powered EVs in delivery fleets.
2. MG to award its upcoming electric car to Olympic medal winners.
MG India has announced that its upcoming electric car, the MG Windsor EV, will be awarded to all Indian Olympic medalists. The Windsor EV will be MG’s third EV in India (after MG ZS EV & Comet EV). In foreign markets, this car is sold as the Cloud EV, but for India, it has been renamed as the MG Windsor EV.
Internationally, the car is available in two battery variants: 37.9 kWh (range 360 km) & 50.6 kWh (range
460 km). In India however, the Windsor EV is expected to feature the MG ZS EV’s 50.3 kWh battery. The Windsor EV is expected to go on sale during the festive season. Prices are expected to start from Rs 20 lakh.
3. Adani Total Gas to add 740 more EV charging points to its network.
Adani Total Gas, in its latest media release, announced the expansion of its EV charging network. The company plans to add 740 new EV charging points to its network. At present, the company has 1212 EV charging points.
The new EV charging points will be strategically placed to expand coverage & reduce waiting times for users. With these additions, Adani’s EV charging infrastructure presence will grow to 217 cities in 23 Indian states.
4. ElectricPe raises funds. Will expand to new locations.
EV charging aggregator ElectricPe has raised $3 million (approximately Rs 25 crore) in a funding round led by Green Frontier Capital. The climate change-focused VC fund has previously backed startups like Battery Smart, E-Motorad & BluSmart Mobility. The funding round also saw participation from other existing investors Blume Ventures, Micelio Fund & NB Ventures. ElectricPe will use these funds to expand into new territories.
The Bengaluru-based startup recently collaborated with Google Maps. Alongside Kazam, Statiq & Ather Grid, ElectricPe EV charging stations will feature on Google Maps. Details of around 8000 EV chargers belonging to the above mentioned EV charging networks will be visible on Google Maps.
5. New EV charging vertical of Lubi Pumps going strong.
Lubi Pumps, a part Lubi Industries, recently launched a new business vertical, Lubi EV Solutions. The new vertical is involved in EV charging solutions. Lubi’s EV chargers are manufactured at the group's Ahmedabad plant. The chargers are manufactured entirely in India and are ARAI certified.
Lubi EV Solutions recently installed an EV charger at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh). Also, a 7.4 kW AC charger was installed at CBI office in Gandhinagar (Gujarat), a 60 kW fast EV charging station was installed at CPWD office in Hyderabad, and a 30 kW EV charger was installed at the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) office in Faridabad.
