1. Exicom launches India’s fastest EV charger.

EV charger manufacturer Exicom has launched India’s fastest DC charger ‘Harmony Gen 1.5’. It features a modular construction which allows the charger to have power outputs ranging from 60 kW to 400 kW. The Harmony Gen 1.5 is suitable for a broad spectrum of EVs, from compact electric cars to heavy-duty electric buses. The charger is built to withstand India’s challenging climate & electrical conditions, making them resilient to extreme temperatures & voltage fluctuations.

The charger is also equipped with a credit card payment slot. The Exicom Harmony Gen 1.5 DC Chargers are ideal for automakers looking for DC fast-chargers for showrooms & service centres, as well as for CPOs operating public EV charging stations. Shares of Exicom Tele-Systems jumped 9% following the launch of this new EV charger.

2. Tata Power deploys 220 EV charging points in Karnataka.

India’s largest EV charging solutions provider Tata Power has deployed 220 EV charging points across Karnataka. The chargers have been deployed across major highways between Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Davanagere & Mysore. The company has also set-up green chargers at Coorg & Chikmagalur, two popular tourist destinations. EV chargers have also been deployed at Tata group companies’ properties like Taj Hotels, Croma electronics retail stores & Tanishq jewellery showrooms.

Tata Power has also joined hands with builders to install chargers at their properties. It has set-up EV chargers at Brigade Gardenia apartment complex & DivyaSree Elan Homes (both in Bengaluru).

3. EV charging company Relux Electric to set-up 20 large EV charging stations.

EV charging infrastructure company Relux Electric has raised Rs 250 crore. The company plans to use the raised funds to develop 20 large EV charging stations across southern India's highways over the next 8 months. Relux has identified lands (1 to 1.5 acres each) on busy highways such as NH 44, NH 45, etc. The upcoming charging stations will serve a wide spectrum of EVs, with every station capable of accommodating up to 10 electric cars, 2 electric buses & an electric truck simultaneously. The charging stations will also have shopping facilities & eateries.

Relux Electric is also planning to launch a separate business unit to set-up EV charging stations for fleet operators.

4. Mahindra gives an outline of its EV plans.

Auto giant Mahindra will invest $1.44 billion over the next 3 years in its electric vehicle unit. Mahindra expects EVs to form 20-30% of its vehicle sales by 2027. The $1.44 billion funding will allow Mahindra to speed up its rather slow transition to electric & catch up with rival Tata Motors, which is currently dominating India’s electric car market. Mahindra currently sells just one model, the XUV400 EV, but plans to launch multiple electric SUVs next year. The company is in advanced stages of starting production of its ‘Born Electric’ portfolio of electric SUVs, which includes 6 vehicles. The company is expected to launch these between January & March next year.

Mahindra is also looking at hybrid cars, although it considers hybrid vehicles as an extension of petrol/diesel vehicles, and will prioritize EVs over hybrids.

5. Citroen to supply electric cars to EV fleet company.

Citroen India has signed an agreement with Hyderabad-based OHM E Logistics to supply 1000 eC3 electric cars. The first phase involves delivering of 120 eC3 cars to OHM. In the next 12 months, the remaining 880 cars will be delivered in a phased manner.

In March this year, Citroen India had signed an agreement with BluSmart to supply 4000 e-C3 EVs within a year.
