1. Servotech to set-up new EV charger components factory.
Servotech Power Systems has announced an investment of Rs 100 crore to set-up a new facility for manufacturing EV charger components. The new facility will come up at Sonipat (Haryana).
Servotech released a statement: “The company is investing Rs 100 crore for setting up an EV charger component manufacturing facility. The plant will have an initial annual production capacity of 24,000 power modules. Our goal is to make Servotech a preferred supplier of EV chargers as well as preferred supplier of power modules for other EV charger manufacturers.” The facility will produce power modules, control circuits and power line communications equipment.
2. Terra Charge to set-up EV charging hub in Ghaziabad.
Terra Charge has joined hands with Noida-headquartered cab service company ‘PriSum Rove Cabs’ to set-up an EV charging hub in Ghaziabad. This ‘Park and Charge’ facility will have 70 slow EV chargers (3.3 kW) and 1 DC fast charger (60 kW).
The two companies have plans to establish more EV charging hubs in future. PriSum Rove Cabs is targeting full electrification of its fleet by 2025.
3. Chandigarh to get 53 public EV charging stations by March-end.
The Union Territory of Chandigarh is set to receive the services of 53 public EV charging stations by March end. These 53 charging stations (with 92 charging guns) have been set-up at 32 locations. The infrastructure has been developed under the authority of CREST (Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotional Society), the nodal agency for implementation of the UT’s EV Policy. These stations are located at key locations in the city including Rock Garden parking, Lake Club parking, Multi-Level parking at Sector 17, near Parade Ground at Sector 22, near Passport Office in Sector 34, Japanese Garden parking, amongst others.
A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed with the Municipal Corporation shortly and after that a copy of the MoU will be sent to the Electricity Department for supplying power to the charging stations.
4. Adani to develop EV charging infra along 4 expressways in UP.
Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Ltd will develop EV charging infrastructure along four expressways in Uttar Pradesh. The project involves setting-up of 26 EV charging stations along the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway and Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
There were six contenders for the project including Adani, Tata Power, ChargeZone, Servotech, VerdeMobility and CASHurDRIVE. Adani won the bid.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will provide 2000 sq ft space on a 10 year lease basis along the 4 expressways to the private operator. The charging tariff has been set at Rs 9.74 per unit.
5. Anand Mahindra gifts chess prodigy an electric SUV.
Mahindra Chairman Mr Anand Mahindra gifted India’s youngest chess grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa a Mahindra XUV400 EV. The chess player thanked the industrialist on X (formerly Twitter).
The XUV400 is Mahindra’s first electric car in India. The electric SUV comes with two battery options: 34.5 kWh (range: 375 km) and 39.4 kWh (range: 456 km). The vehicle takes 6.5 hours to fully charge using a 7.2 kW AC charger and 50 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast-charger. Prices start from Rs 15.49 lakh.
