1. Jeep Avenger EV India bound?

Jeep’s first electric car, the Avenger EV, made its debut in the 2022 Paris Auto Show. According to sources, Jeep is set to launch the Avenger EV in India by the end of this year.

The Avenger is Jeep’s smallest SUV. The car is claimed to be apt for city driving as well as off-roading. It features a 54 kWh battery pack which gives a range of 550 km. Using a fast-charger, the electric SUV gets charged to run for 30 km in just 3 minutes! The battery can be recharged from 20-80% in just 24 minutes.

Features include all-LED lights, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital console, multicoloured ambient lighting, large 18-inch alloy wheels, traffic sign recognition system, wireless charging pad, 360-degree parking sensors and rear camera.

2. Tata Power to install EV charging stations in Ayodhya.

Tata Power, along with Ayodhya Development Authority, will install EV charging stations at public parking areas across the holy city. An MoU for the same was signed in Ayodhya on June 28.

This EV charging network will be intended to promote the use of EVs amongst locals and tourists in the city. Domestic and international tourists are expected to visit Ayodhya in large numbers once the new Ram Mandir gets inaugurated next year. The EV charger sites have been strategically selected to provide convenient and accessible charging services for EV users. At present, Tata Power has 110 public & semi-public EV charging stations across Uttar Pradesh.

3. Zomato joins hands with TVS for eco-friendly last-mile delivery.

Zomato has joined hands with TVS Motors to transform its last-mile delivery operations. Zomato seeks to leverage TVS Motors’ expertise in electric scooter technology to decarbonise its last-mile delivery services. Zomato will deploy over 10,000 TVS electric scooters across various cities in the next two years. As part of this collaboration, 50 TVS iQube electric scooters were handed-over to Zomato delivery partners at a ceremony in Hyderabad.

4. MG Developer Program winners announced.

The 4th season of the MG Developer Program concluded with the announcement of the winners. The winners are: Evolog, Centaur Automotive, Evnnovator, Amplify Cleantech Solutions, Profformance Technologies and Danox Apps.

The MG Developer Program and Grant 4.0 was presented in collaboration with leading organizations to support the next gen of innovators. MG India joined hands with industry bodies like Invest India & Startup India. Other partners were Jio-BP, Exicom, Fortum, CESL, Attero, MapmyIndia and Bosch.

5. UK-based company develops a 6-minute charging electric car.

UK-based high-performance battery & charging tech firm ‘Nyobolt’ has unveiled an electric concept car that can be fully charged in just 6 minutes! The car’s design is based on the Lotus Elise. It features a 35 kWh battery which gives a range of 250km. The company’s new battery tech is smaller, lighter and has superfast charging rate. This tech will go into production in 2024 first quarter.
