1. Bengaluru to get a state-of-the-art testing facility for EV battery & EV charger.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art EV testing facility at the National Test House (NTH) in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The facility will focus on battery and EV charger testing.

The new facility will provide testing & certification services for EV battery & charger manufacturers to ensure the best standards of quality & safety. The testing centre will be equipped to perform multiple tests for electrical safety, functional safety, durability, climate resistance (IP tests & corrosion) and material testing (flammability & glow wire).

The testing centre will be near key players in the battery & EV charger manufacturing sector in Bengaluru. After Bengaluru, NTH is also planning to set-up similar facilities in Mumbai & Kolkata.

2. EV charging station inaugurated at C-DAC campus in Kerala.

An indigenous EV charging station was recently inaugurated at the C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) campus. The charging facility was inaugurated by S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

The EV charging station will feature AC chargers & DC fast chargers for EVs ranging from two-wheelers to heavy vehicles.

Apart from the charging station inauguration, the guest of honour made some important announcements as well regarding technology transfer. An agreement was signed between C-DAC, Hykon India Ltd & Tata Power for developing & deploying of Vehicle-to-Grid technologies (V2G, V2H & V2B).

3. Allianz joins hands with Pulse Energy for EV charging solutions.

Allianz Partners India has announced a collaboration with Pulse Energy to ‘enhance EV ownership experience in India’. This tie-up aims to address issues related to range anxiety & accessibility to EV charging infrastructure.

The partnership aims to combine Allianz Partners India's extensive mobility assistance network with Pulse Energy's 'roaming-hub-as-a-service' platform. EV owners will have real-time access to EV charger locations, remote access control over charging process & roaming capabilities to reduce range anxiety. A new EV trip planner will also be introduced, which will show routes with EV chargers & other amenities to provide worry-free travel. In addition to the above features, an AI-powered chatbot, offering immediate support to all issues related to EV chargers, will also be launched.

4. Servotech shares zoom after big announcement.

Shares of Servotech Power Systems jumped 8.5% and attained an all-time high after the company announced that it has partnered with 62 DISCOMs across India under the ‘PM Surya Ghar Mufti Bijli Yojana’. Servotech has been consistently in news for its exemplary run in the share market, and the company’s new alliance with DISCOMs under this scheme will further expand its reach. Servotech is a leading manufacturer of solar power solutions & EV chargers.

5. Ather Grid EV charging stations to feature on Google Maps.

Ather Energy has partnered with Google Maps to provide real-time availability of its Ather Grid two-wheeler chargers to EV users. The tie-up will let electric two-wheeler users with LECCS connector on their vehicles to access Ather Grid fast EV chargers on Google with real-time status availability.

LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System), is India’s indigenously developed EV charging connector standard for electric two-wheelers, which has been approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Ather Grid’s EV charging network is based on this standard.

Whenever Ather installs a new EV charger, it will immediately be listed on Google Maps. At present, Ather has more than 1950 fast chargers across the country.
