1. Hyundai India receives 650 bookings for IONIQ 5. BYD India receives 2000 bookings for Atto 3.
Hyundai India had launched the IONIQ 5 at the 2023 Auto Expo and the automaker has now revealed that it has received 650 bookings for the electric SUV. The IONIQ 5 is available in a single fully-loaded variant priced at Rs 44.95 lakh. Deliveries will begin by the end of March.
BYD India had launched the ‘Atto 3’ in November 2022. The electric SUV has received 2000 bookings since its launch and the company has delivered the first batch of 340 units. The Atto 3 is offered in a single fully-loaded variant priced at Rs 33.99 lakh, but a special edition was launched at the Auto Expo which is Rs 50,000 costlier. The special edition comes in Forest Green colour with dual-tone alloy wheels.
2. Ather and its corporate outreach program.
Ather Energy has introduced a corporate outreach program to promote electric mobility in the country. The month-long program offers benefits worth upto Rs 16,259 for corporate employees to bring home an Ather electric scooter. The benefits include a corporate discount of Rs 4000, an exchange bonus of Rs 4000 & tax savings on loans taken to buy the scooter. The company is also offering a complimentary 2 year extended battery warranty (in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty of 3 years!). These offers are valid till 28 February. Ather Energy is also offering to install complimentary EV charging points at workplaces.
3. Carpooling platform ‘Quick Ride’ introduces EVs in its fleet.
Bengaluru-based carpooling platform ‘Quick Ride’ has introduced electric cars in its taxi fleet. A batch of 100 Tata Tigor EVs, equipped with both slow & fast-charging capabilities, have been inducted in the company’s Bengaluru fleet. Quick Ride operates its own cars with hired driver partners. The company also has a dedicated EV charging network in Bangalore.
4. EV charging platform ElectricPe makes its ‘charging management system’ free for all.
Bengaluru-based EV charging platform ElectricPe has announced an industry-first move by making its Charging Management Software (CMS) free for all. The need for a comprehensive charging management system to administer, monitor & track charging equipments is immense. Industry experts claim this move will significantly benefit EV charger manufacturers & Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and encourage more people to set up charging points. Accessibility of a freely available industry-standard software will help streamline operations, diminish recurring costs and keep CPOs up-to-date with periodic updates. The CPOs which use this CMS will get a direct listing on the ElectricPe app. The startup’s vision is to become India’s largest EV charging aggregation platform.
5. HOP Electric launches electric motorcycle at the Hyderabad E-Motor Show.
Jaipur-headquartered electric two-wheeler company 'HOP Electric' has introduced an electric motorcycle ‘HOP OXO’ at the Hyderabad E-Motor Show. The OXO features a 3.75 kWh battery which offers a claimed range of up to 135 km. The top speed is 90 km/hr. The bike can be booked on the HOP electric website at Rs 999. The ex-showroom price (before subsidy) is Rs 1,64,999. The EV expo is being held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre (Hyderabad).
