1. Park+ and Exponent Energy come together to set up 1000 EV charging stations.

Exponent Energy announced a partnership with Park+, to deploy 1000 charging stations across India by end of 2023. The first station will come up at Bengaluru.

Exponent Energy will leverage the public parking spaces and real estate accessible to Park+ to set up these EV charging stations. These stations will be jointly branded as ‘Park+ EV Zones powered by Exponent’ and will be deployed at high EV usage regions.

2. Chandigarh to welcome 23 fast charging stations.

EV users in Chandigarh will soon be able to charge their vehicles at 23 charging stations at 9 locations across the city. These stations will have a total of 92 charging guns. Out of the 37 sanctioned EV charging stations under FAME-II scheme, 23 fast-charging stations have been installed and will be made operational shortly in Chandigarh. Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST) is the nodal agency for implementation of the EV policy in the union territory.

Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL), a public sector undertaking, was awarded the contract for these charging stations. For convenience of consumers, CREST is developing a mobile app to provide real-time information on charging stations such as available slots, type of station, load, location and tariff.

3. Apeejay Hotels tie-up with Tata Power to set up EV chargers across its hotels.

Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ltd (ASPHL) has entered into a partnership with Tata Power to deploy EV charging infrastructure for four-wheelers across its hotels. All brands under the ASPHL Group, namely, Park Hotels, Park Collection, Zone by The Park and Zone Connect, would install EV charging infrastructure at their properties.

4. Shares of pump & motor manufacturing company jumps after investment in EV subsidiary.

Shakti Pumps announced an investment of Rs 1 crore in its wholly-owned electric vehicle subsidiary 'Shakti Green Industries' by purchasing 10 lakh equity shares of Rs 10 each. Shares of the company jumped 1.72% after this announcement.

Shakti Green Industries was incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary by Shakti Pumps on December 16, 2021. The subsidiary is active in the EV segment. It manufactures and sells EV motors, charging stations, battery management systems, electric control panels and other components. Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers of submersible pumps for domestic, industrial and agricultural use.

5. EV charging point inaugurated at Vizag Railway Station.

An EV charging point was inaugurated at the Vishakhapatnam Railway Station on 8 December, 2022. The station was installed by Joulepoint. A fast-charging gun has also been installed at the charging station. Joulepoint also handed out surprise gifts to the first 2 electric cars that were charged at the station.
