1. Statiq joins hands with more EV charging networks.
Statiq has joined hands with Hyundai India, GLIDA & chargeMOD to expand EV charging services through interoperability. This collaboration will allow EV users to access multiple charging networks on the Statiq app. As per the deal, existing & future EV chargers from these CPOs will be integrated into the Statiq app.
The company’s earlier EV charging partnerships with CPOs like E-Fill Electric & Sunfuel lead to a 30% increase in utilization of the combined charging networks. Now, Statiq plans to introduce more than 2000 new public chargers via these new partnerships. The collaboration will also allow users to pay via the Statiq wallet, removing the need for multiple apps & wallets.
2. Tata Power deploys 850 EV charging points for electric buses.
Tata Power has recently deployed around 850 high-capacity EV charging points for electric buses at 30 bus depots in major cities across India. This bus charging network is spread in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Goa, Srinagar, Jammu, etc.
The company has also designed & set-up various bus depots in some cities.
Tata Power’s new electric bus charging network includes high-capacity fast chargers with a range of 180-240 kW with an average charging time of 1-1.5 hours.
3. Swedish EV company to set-up manufacturing unit in Pune.
Swedish EV company 'Clean Motion' made an announcement setting-up of a manufacturing unit in Pune to localize & indigenously manufacture its flagship product, the 'Zbee' passenger electric three-wheeler. According to the company, the Zbee E3W will be Made-In-India for domestic as well as global markets.
Additionally, the company will set up an EV charging network on a cluster model. Each cluster will have parking facilities, EV chargers & battery swapping kiosks to serve 20-25 Zbee EVs in fleet operations.
Clean Motion’s India unit will focus on first & last-mile services, connecting key locations like metro stations, malls, colleges & offices.
4. Bengaluru tops the list for electric car registrations. Karnataka tops in EV charging infrastructure.
Bengaluru finished ahead of Mumbai, Delhi & Pune in 2023 to become the country’s top city for electric car registrations. Bengaluru’s electric car registrations witnessed a threefold jump in 2023 to 8690 units.
And Karnataka is leading the race when it comes to number of public EV charging stations, with over 5500 active stations as of February 2024. Bengaluru is also ready to get 921 electric buses as the city's transport corporation has signed an agreement with a subsidiary of Tata Motors. The subsidiary, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions, will be responsible for operation & maintenance of these 921 low-floor electric buses in the city for 12 years. 5. Magenta Mobility deploys 100 units of Tata Ace EV in its fleet.
Magenta Mobility has deployed 100 units of Tata Ace EV in its fleet. This includes 60 units of Ace EV and 40 units of the recently launched Ace EV 1000.
This deployment is a part of the agreement signed between Magenta & Tata Motors in October 2023, which involves the latter supplying 500 units of Tata Ace EV. Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO of Magenta Mobility, gave a statement on the occasion: “By synergizing Tata Motors' expertise in four-wheel small commercial vehicles with our integrated capabilities in logistics, charging infrastructure & technology, this partnership is poised to redefine industry standards.”
