1. Hero MotoCorp partners with Ather for interoperable EV charging network.

Hero MotoCorp has joined hands with Ather Energy for an interoperable fast-charging network in the country. As a result of this tie-up, Vida and Ather electric scooter owners will be able to use both Vida charging infrastructure and Ather Grids across India. This combined charging network covers 100 cities with 1900 fast-chargers.

Electric scooter owners will be able to locate & navigate to the charging points through My VIDA app and Ather Grid app. This interoperable arrangement will enable customers to locate only compatible charging points, view charger availability and navigate to the location.

2. Fujitsu to start pilot program of EV charging infrastructure for fleets.

Japanese company Fujitsu has announced the launch of a pilot program to optimize the installation of EV charging infrastructure in India. The trial run will involve Fujitsu’s fleet optimization solution, which focuses on streamlining fleet deployment & operations.

The test run will happen between November 2023 & March 2024 in Delhi and Mumbai. Once the pilot program is over, Fujitsu will analyze the fleet data and evaluate the optimal number and locations for new charging stations.

3. Kinetic Green launches a new electric scooter ZULU.

Kinetic Green has launched a new electric scooter ‘Zulu’. The Zulu features a 2.27 kWh NMC battery which gives a range of 104 km. The claimed top speed is 60 km/hr. The new scooter can be fast-charged up to 80% in just 30 minutes using the standard charger plugged into a 15-Amp socket. The introductory price for the Zulu is Rs 94,990. The new electric scooter will be available at all Kinetic Green showrooms and also on Amazon & Flipkart. Kinetic Green will also offer Zulu with ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ (BaaS) subscription plans.

Kinetic Green is expected to follow up the launch of Zulu with the highly anticipated Luna Electric in early 2024.

4. Log9 partners with Tork Motors for EV charging infrastructure.

Advanced battery tech company Log9 and electric motorcycle startup TORK Motors have come together for an interoperable charging network in the country under the Bharat Charge Alliance (BCA), in which the two companies are members. Under the tie-up, Tork & Log9 will allow customers of both companies to utilize their EV charging network, which is based on BCA’s interoperable LEV fast-charging standard which was released by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in 2021.

Also, compatible EVs of other brands will also be able to use this combined network for charging purposes.

5. ElectricPe starts a new chapter. Opens physical and virtual stores starting with Bengaluru.

ElectricPe recently announced plans to open physical & virtual mobility centres. Customers in Bengaluru can now pay a visit to three newly established mobility centres in the city to view & test drive a variety of electric two-wheelers from different EV brands under one roof. Many more outlets are planned for 2024.

ElectricPe's mobility centres will not only function as showrooms for EVs but also provide services such as EV charging, financing, insurance and vehicle exchange facility. Consumers buying an EV from ElectricPe will also get access to the company's extensive EV charging network throughout the country.
