1. Switch Mobility to provide electric buses and charging infrastructure to JSW.
Switch Mobility has announced a partnership with JSW to provide 71 electric buses for employee transportation. These buses will be delivered at JSW’s Vijayanagar (Karnataka) plant. Switch Mobility will also set up charging infrastructure for these buses. This partnership with JSW is an important milestone for the company as this is its largest private bus order. These air-conditioned electric buses will sport modular batteries which have been developed specially keeping the Indian climate in mind. Switch Mobility is a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland.
2. Chennai International Airport to set up 5 charging stations.
The Chennai International Airport, the 3rd largest airport in the country in terms of international passenger traffic, is all set to open a modern multi-level car parking on December 4. The west block of the parking will have 3 EV charging stations, while the east block will have 2. The number of charging points will increase as per future requirements. Visitors at the parking will be able to pre-book EV charging slots and make e-payments via a dedicated app. The multi-level car parking has been constructed in place of the old parking lot with a build-up area of 2.5 lakh sq.ft. It is a six-storeyed structure with a restaurant.
3. Andhra Pradesh-based ‘EKO Tejas’ to launch India’s 1st Electric Muscle Bike.
EKO Tejas, the Andhra based manufacturer of electric two and three-wheelers, has introduced the country’s 1st electric muscle bike ‘E-Dyroth’. On a single charge, the bike can travel 150 kilometers. It also has the option to accommodate a spare battery, which can help the rider travel 300km at a stretch. The company will provide an EV charger, which the dealers will install at the buyer’s parking spot. The bike has a top speed of 100 km/hr. The ‘E-Dyroth’ will be available in the market December 2022 onwards. The pre bookings have commenced.

4. Charge Zone installs EV charging station at luxury hotel in Bengaluru.
Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel has set up an EV charging station at the property. The hotel plans to have an all-electric fleet soon. Gujarat-based Charge Zone has installed the DC fast-charging station with dual charging guns that are designed to charge electric cars. The charging station will be open to general public as well.
Marriott has partnered with Charge Zone to deploy 100 EV charging stations across its properties in India. Hotel Renaissance is a part of the Marriott group.
5. Tata Power EV charging station inaugurated at Vivanta Guwahati.
Indian Hotels (IHCL), a Tata group company, inaugurated an EV charging station at Vivanta Guwahati (Assam) in association with Tata Power. This is the first EV charging station at a Tata group hotel in the northeast. The charging station is equipped to charge four vehicles simultaneously. EV users can book slots at the charging station and pay online via the Tata Power EZ Charge app.
