1. ChargeEZ installs 8 EV chargers in Bangalore.
ChargeEZ has joined hands with ITPL, the oldest tech park in Bangalore. The company has installed 8 EV chargers at the park including a 1.1kW (for 2-wheelers), 3.3kW (regular AC for 3 & 4-wheelers) and 7.2kW fast chargers (for 4-wheelers). ITPL’s tie-up with ChargeEZ will provide ITPL’s tenants and visitors access to a reliable EV charging network. ChargeEZ has a network of 150+ EV chargers.
2. EV charging company ‘Servotech’ opens retail store in Gurgaon.
EV charging & solar power company ‘Servotech’ inaugurated its first outlet named 'GreenWorld' in Gurugram, Haryana. GreenWorld is a concept store by Servotech aimed towards bringing all its products under one roof. The outlet will have EV chargers, solar panels, solar batteries and lithium batteries. The outlet will also have EV charging facilities for visitors and general public to provide on-the-move charging.
3. EV charging network expansion in Tamil Nadu.
The Greater Chennai Corporation is working on development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in parking lots. The corporation will explore the feasibility of development of EV charging infrastructure at public parking lots at 88 locations. The corporation already has EV chargers at 35 parking locations for its fleet of electric garbage vehicles.
Apart from these government initiatives, private player Ather also plans to install 150 fast charging stations in Tamil Nadu. Ather recently inaugurated a showroom for its electric scooters at Salem city in TN. The company plans to expand its retail footprint to 15 showrooms in the state. Tamil Nadu has emerged as a high demand market for electric scooters with Ather Energy registering a 49% quarter-on-quarter growth!
4. Angel Investor ‘Climate Angels’ helps startup ‘Clean Electric’ raise funds.
Angel investment platform for pollution reduction & climate tech startups ‘Climate Angels’ has invested in Clean Electric, an energy storage solutions startup and helped it raise $2.2 million in a seed round led by Kalaari Capital. With the funding received, Clean Electric plans to set up a manufacturing facility in Pune to produce 5000 battery packs per month. Clean Electric also plans to use the funds for R&D and for developing new fast-charging products. Recently, Clean Electric filed a patent for direct liquid cooling technology wherein the cells of the battery are always in contact with a coolant which ensures maximum safety and a 1.5x longer life span.
5. India’s first geared electric motorcycle to be launched soon.
Gujarat-based startup ‘Matter Energy’ has presented India’s first geared electric motorcycle tentatively named ‘Matter 07’. It features a 4-speed gearbox with clutch, a 5kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 125km. The electric bike will have keyless start-stop, a 7-inch touchscreen and a 5 litre storage compartment. It is expected to go on sale April 2023 onwards. The bike supports regular as well as fast charging through a common connector and comes equipped with a 1kW on-board charger. It also features the country’s first liquid-cooled motor. Expected Price: Rs.1.75 lakh.
