1. Tata Power to install 100 EV charging stations in Goa.
Tata Power will set up 100 EV charging stations in Goa. The company already has 50 EV chargers in the state. Tata Power will install charging stations along all national highways that connect/pass through the state. Praveer Sinha, CEO, Tata Power gave a statement: “We have plans to add at least 100 more EV chargers in Goa in the coming year, and we will also have chargers on the highways from here to Mumbai, Pune & Karwar.” Tata Power will target petrol pumps, railway stations, shopping malls, commercial buildings, resorts and parking lots to set up the charging stations.
2. Maharashtra State Electricity Company gets awarded for EV charging infrastructure.
Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) has been awarded the ‘ISGF Innovation Award 2023’ for its EV charging initiatives. The ‘India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF)’ has organized the ‘ISGF Innovation Awards’ since 2017. The MSEDCL has received the award in the ‘emerging innovation in electric mobility’ category.
The MSEDCL has taken initiatives to develop EV charging infrastructure, fix lower tariffs for EV charging, develop a web portal and an app for EV users, etc. EV owners can locate their nearest charging stations and make online payments via the app.
3. The ‘India eMobility Show 2023’ to be held on 23 & 24 March in Greater Noida.
The ‘India eMobility Show 2023’ will be taking place on 23 & 24 March at the ‘India Expo Centre & Mart’ in Greater Noida (NCR). The show aims to bring together stakeholders from the entire electric mobility value chain under a single roof. The exhibition will have participants showcase new EV concepts, products and EV components. Representatives from government, OEMs, EV charging companies, battery companies, fleet & logistics companies, etc will be present. Companies participating in the expo include P2 Power, Sock8, Rhyno EV, Virya Mobility, etc.
4. Bill Gates tries a Mahindra Electric Treo three-wheeler.
Microsoft co-founder and billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates, on his recent trip to India, was seen driving a Mahindra Treo electric auto. A video of him driving the electric three-wheeler was shared via his Instagram handle.
This Mahindra Treo electric 3-wheeler passenger vehicle is priced in the vicinity of Rs 3 lakhs, sports a 7.37 kWh lithium-ion battery which can be fully charged in less than 4 hours and has a range of around 130 km.

5. Bharat Petroleum sets up an EV charging corridor on a major highway.
Bharat Petroleum has set up an EV fast-charging corridor on the Sambalpur-Raipur-Nagpur highway. BPCL has installed EV charging stations at 15 petrol pumps situated on the highway. These fast-charging stations are located every 100 km on the highway. BPCL has already set up 4 charging corridors before this one at the following highways: Chennai-Trichy-Madurai, Chennai-Bengaluru, Bengaluru-Coorg and Delhi-Jalandhar.
