India's marquee automobile show ‘Auto Expo 2023’ concluded with a highest-ever turnout of over 6.36 lakh visitors. Electric vehicles were the talk of the town during the show with the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, Tata Motors, Toyota, MG India & BYD showcasing their futuristic products. Details below:
Toyota bZ4X:
Toyota showcased its electric SUV ‘bZ4X’ at the Auto Expo. Internationally, the car is offered in 2 variants: front-wheel drive (FWD) & all-wheel drive (AWD). The bZ4X features a 71.4 kWh battery. Inside it gets a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen connected to a 9-speaker JBL sound system.
DEVOT Motors:
DEVOT Motors, a Jodhpur-based EV startup, unveiled an electric motorcycle. The yet unnamed electric motorbike sports a 9.5 kWh battery pack which gives a range of 200 km. The claimed top speed is 120km/hr. The model showcased at the expo happens to be a production-ready prototype. The motorcycle is expected to be launched by mid-2023. The company has established its R&D centre in the UK.
Autel:
Autel, a company involved in automotive diagnostic products, showcased an EV charger at the Auto Expo. The charger, named ‘MaxiCharger AC Elite’, offers multiple features that can be accessed through the Autel app. The company also announced that it is developing diagnostic solutions for electric vehicles.
Liger:
Mumbai-based Liger Mobility unveiled a ‘self-balancing’ electric scooter at the Auto Expo called the Liger X. The scooter comes equipped with the company’s in-house 'AutoBalancing' tech. The e-scooter comes with a detachable battery that offers a range of 60 km. Bookings are expected to begin by mid-2023. Expected price: Rs 90,000.
Cake from Sweden:
Sweden-based electric bike manufacturer ‘Cake’ showcased its range of electric two-wheelers at the Auto Expo. The company brought its ‘Makka’, ‘Kalk’ & ‘Osa’ models to the expo. Makka is a lightweight electric moped which sports a 1.5 kWh battery. The Kalk is a lightweight off-roader with a 2.5 kWh battery. The Osa is a more powerful e-bike which hosts a 3.5 kWh battery.
Cake is looking for an Indian partner and has plans to set-up an assembly plant and sell its light e-bikes in India.
