1. MG Motors inaugurates EV chargers in residential society in Jaipur.

MG Motors India recently installed & inaugurated the first two residential community chargers in Raj Aangan Society (NRI Colony), Jaipur. The chargers installed are type-2 chargers which will cater to the residents & visitors of the society 24/7.

Under the company’s ‘MG Charge’ initiative, MG plans to install 1000 AC chargers at residential properties across India in 1000 days.

MG has also partnered with Jio-BP and Bharat Petroleum recently to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure in the country.

2. EV charging startup ‘Statiq’ raises $25.7 million funding.

Electric vehicle charging startup Statiq has raised $25.7 million (approx ₹200 crore) in funding. The investor is Shell Ventures.

The startup plans to use the Series A funding to primarily invest in expanding its EV charging infrastructure.

Statiq has recently tied-up with Hero Electric and also joined hands with Ather Electric to expand EV charging network in North India.

3. Rajasthan Electronics floats tender for 409 EV chargers.

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments (REIL) has released a tender for survey, planning, supply, installation, commissioning & maintenance of 409 EV chargers to be installed in 9 cities, across 3 national highways and 1 expressway.

The 9 cities are Agra, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Shimla, Ranchi, Delhi, Jaipur & Chandigarh. The 3 national highways are Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur & Jaipur-Delhi-Agra. The expressway is Mumbai-Pune expressway.

The last date to submit the bids is July 13, 2022.

4. Reliance Industries-backed Altigreen’s EV surge.

Reliance Industries-backed commercial EV manufacturer ‘Altigreen’ inaugurated its EV service centre at Wagholi in Pune, in collaboration with last-mile delivery service provider Vidyut Parivahan.

The company also opened its sales, marketing and R&D office in Aundh locality of Pune.

The company recently raised Rs.300 crore in a funding round and is utilizing it for capacity expansion & product design.

In addition to functioning as a service centre for Altigreen vehicles, the facility will also offer EV charging facilities to the public.

5. EV charging startup ‘ElectriVa’ to install 12 EV charging points in Kanpur.

EV charging startup ElectriVa will install 12 EV charging points in Kanpur (UP). Kanpur Municipal Corporation awarded the contract for the same to the Delhi-based startup. Out of the 12, majority of the EV chargers will be fast chargers.

Recently, ChargeZone installed rapid DC chargers for electric buses in the city.

Kanpur is experiencing significant growth in number of passenger & commercial EVs in the city. Electric mobility company ‘Oye Rickshaw’ launched its app-based e-rickshaw services in the city few months back.
