Colleges, hospitals, shopping malls, restaurants, & Kirana stores can purchase up to 20 charging stations. One thing to keep in mind: the number of charging stations requested should be 20% less than the number of parking spaces available. This means that if a mall has ten parking spaces, the mall owner can only subsidise two charging stations.

Types of charging stations involved in the subsidy scheme

LEV AC: Single socket charging station with an input & output voltage of 230 V & maxing current 16 AMPS. This is a wall-mounted charging station.This can be controlled by a mobile application. It has Safety features like earthing & circuit breaker. Scope of work: installation, delivery, annual maintenance, & five-metre wire cost is included in this.

Bharat AC 001: Also known as type one charger, this has 3 sockets & all of these are 230 V & 15 AMPS. The benefit of this is that you can charge up to 3 cars at one time. The charger can be controlled with the mobile application, it has visual indications & various safety features. This charger runs on an OCPP base. Rs.32,000-Rs.35,000 after subsidy.

How to buy this charging station & avail the benefit of this subsidy scheme All the 3 Discoms BSES Yamuna, BSES Rajdhani, & Tata Power on their website have a specific section live just for you to go on the portal & select the charging station you would like to install. Depending on the place you live you can choose the electricity provider & buy the chagrin station.

Let's take example of TATA Discom portal to understand Step by step procedure

Step 1 : Mention CA number (It is mentioned on electricity bill)You will get an OTP on your cell phone

Step 2: Enter that OTP number and then click on Validate OTP

Step3 : Enter other details like Charger type,vendor name ,Dwelling unit type

Step 4: Enter your option of CAPEX or OPEX model ( Depends on Vendor)

Step 5 : Submit.

Test and Commission the Charging Station:

Once the charging equipment has been installed, it is important to test and commission the charging station to ensure that it is working properly. This involves checking the power supply, the charging speed, and the compatibility with different EVs.

Electricity and billing

The units in the electricity bill multiplied by the applicable power tariff (rate per unit) will show the total bill amount, which you will be liable to pay to the electricity department each month.

Once the charging station is operational, it is important to promote it to attract customers. This can be done through advertising, social media, and other marketing channels.

Monitor and Maintain the Charging Station

Monitoring is done to ensure that it is operating efficiently. This includes regular maintenance and upgrades to keep up with the latest technology and charging standards.
