Bharat Mobility Global Expo at Bharat Mandapam
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, spoke on 3rd February 2024 at the opening ceremony of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, which took place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. During a stroll of the exhibition, he interacted with the displays aggressively. With a venue for exhibitions, conferences, buyer-seller meetings, state sessions, a road safety pavilion, and interactive attractions like go-karting, this ground-breaking event showcases India's excellence in the mobility and automotive industries.

With more than 800 exhibitors representing more than 50 nations, the Expo features innovative transportation solutions, sustainable technology, and cutting-edge technology. More than 600 car component suppliers and more than 28 automakers are present at these exhibits. At the event, more than a thousand businesses representing more than thirteen international markets will showcase their goods, innovations, and services. A complete approach to mobility solutions is promoted via state sessions, which allow states to showcase their regional contributions and projects, in addition to exhibits and conferences. This fosters collaboration at both the national and regional levels.
PM Modi’s take on E-Mobility
The Prime Minister congratulated India's automotive industry for pulling together such a fantastic event during his speech. He expressed his gratitude to the exhibitors for their commitment to showcasing their goods at the Expo. He conveyed his excitement and assurance while underscoring the importance of holding an occasion this size and scope in the nation. He emphasized the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024's significance in bringing together the whole supply chain and mobility community on one platform and also encouraged the people of Delhi to attend the Expo.
In addition, PM Modi mentioned his focus on batteries and electric cars, expressing his happiness at the notable advancements made during his second term. He predicted that mobility would reach unprecedented heights in the third term.
PM Modi stated that India's economy is growing quickly and is expected to overtake the United States as the third-largest economy in the world by the end of the present government's third term in office. Providing an overview of the government's work over the last ten years, the prime minister said that almost 25 crore people had been lifted out of poverty. He underlined that when people escape poverty, having a vehicle of some kind—a bike, a two-wheeler, or a four-wheeler becomes a fundamental necessity. In response to the emergence of a neo-middle class, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the significance of realizing the unmatched ambitions of this economic elite and India's mobility sector will be strengthened by the middle class's expanding domains of influence and increasing prosperity.
New policies are in Pipeline: PM Modi
India is developing new policies that are suited to the needs of the future, the Prime Minister said. He disclosed that India's capital expenditures, which were less than 2 lakh crore in 2014, had now increased to nearly 11 lakh crore, citing the recently presented Union Budget. He claimed that this significant rise has given India's automotive industry a lot of new prospects. Transportation via train, road, airport, and canal is changing as a result of the significant investment. He also highlighted the record-breaking timescales in which technical wonders like the Atal Tunnel to Atal Setu were completed.
In the midst of market debates, it is imperative to address a human element in the transportation industry—the thousands of drivers who are essential. These drivers put in long hours behind the wheel, yet owners frequently blame them for being late, which prevents them from getting enough rest. They are also more prone to traffic accidents. The government has introduced an initiative targeted at enhancing the comfort of truck and taxi drivers and their families, in recognition of all the challenges they encounter on the road. As part of this project, all national roads will have brand-new, contemporary structures with amenities to meet the demands of drivers. Complete utilities comprising food services, potable water, restrooms, parking, and relaxation areas will be provided by these structures.
The PM has also mentioned about the FAME scheme which has made it easier to install electric buses.
Research laboratories in India are on par with those throughout the globe in every major subject, including design and a plethora of others. Bharat has an abundance of creative skills in design. The automobiles manufactured in India are known all over the world. It is important to encourage this sense of self-worth. The world will believe in you if you believe in yourself.
