The Ather 450X Gen 3 is Ather Energy’s latest flagship model on sale. It was launched in India in July and has quite a few advantages over the previous generation 450 range.
Design
Overall design of Ather is youthful and sporty.
Ather 450X gen3 design is identical to gen2. There are some design improvements done in Gen3.
-Rear view mirrors have been redesigned for better visibility,they are aimed to improve rearward visibility, including peripheral visibility.Now with the new mirror design its easy to identify blindspot.
-Rear footboard that looks as if it’s a movable part of the chassis is also included.It is a hook at the rear for a 16ltr and 18ltr accessory bag for the scooter.
-Another addition to the third-generation Ather 450X is a side-step for the pillion rider. This additional component is designed for pillion riders who prefer to sit with both legs on one side of the scooter.
-Third-generation Ather 450X uses a wider section rear tyre.The wider tyre increases the contact patch on the surface and improves grip levels.
Other upgrades
-Ather has also doubled the RAM and ROM on the multi-information display in the scooter’s dash.7 Inch android smart display with 2GB RAM.You can store your documents on the dashboard for quick access.Display is bluetooth enabled,you can see, accept and reject calls.You can also play, pause and change music.Most importantly you can navigate with use of google maps.
-The biggest upgrade on the third-generation Ather 450X is the battery pack. Ather Energy has added a larger battery pack to the third-generation 450X. This results in better range and improved thermals. The thermal improvements will allow the scooter to remain at higher speeds for a longer duration.

The new Ather 450X Gen 3 gets a claimed range of about 146 km and a true range of 105 km in Eco Mode.
Charging
The larger battery pack allows for a lesser load on individual cells. Users do not need to charge it often as gen 3 is giving improved high range compared to gen2.Therefore Ather 450X Gen 3 could have a 25% longer battery life.There are three options available for charging.

Ride experience
The e-scooter gets five riding modes (four for 450 Plus) – Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, Sport and Warp (only for 450X)
Ride mode gives upto 60 km/hr speed.Using smart eco you can get a range between 85 and 105 km.Warp mode and sport mode are unbelievably fast.The instrument cluster has an indicator that changes colour with aggressive throttle inputs.
This scooter can deliver a True Range of 105 km per charge in the Smart Eco mode.
