A big move into electric bikes segment - Ola electric teases five new E-bikes

Ola was founded in Dec 2010 by Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati with a mission to build mobility for a billion people.

Ola’s core mobility offering in India is supplemented by its electric-vehicle arm, Ola Electric; India’s largest fleet management business.Ola Electric was established in 2017

The company started to reduce emission and fuel dependency of Ola's cabs, and shift to mass electric mobility; a pilot program was launched in Nagpur in May 2017 by setting up charging stations across the city and procuring electric cabs, e-buses, and e-rickshaws from OEM partners.

Recently Ola has made the “big reveal,” teasing the launch of five new electric bikes in India.The company is expanding its horizons and plans to enter the electric motorcycle sector.

OLA has not revealed the detailed look of new motorcycles as of now. The teasers show the LED daytime running lights on the motorcycles. The motorcycles look to be at the prototype stage. It looks like an adventure tourer, a scrambler and a cafe racer.

Ola has teased an adventure bike, a cruiser, a sports bike, a neo-retro bike and a commuter bike concept.

About variants ,price and launch date

 Ola Electric will launch the motorcycle in three variants: Ranger, Performax, and Out of the world. There are chances that the company will also have a model for the premium segment.

Market price will start from Rs 85,000 and will go up to Rs 1.25 lakh.

The exact launch dates of the bikes has not been announced yet. But chances are the new lineup of motorcycles will introduce the first of these models in 2023 itself.

Prices of the different segments of Ola e-bike

Ola Electric has updated its lineup of S1 electric scooters. Three versions of the S1 Air electric scooter will now be offered, each with a different battery capacity. A 2 kWh battery pack has an 85-km range and costs Rs. 84,999. A 3 kWh battery pack with a 125 km riding range is also available for Rs. 9,999. Last but not least, the 4 kWh battery pack offers a 165 km riding range and costs Rs. 1,09,999.


OLA’s upcoming plans offers and campaign

Ola Electric has 200 experience centres across India. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said that the company will open 500 centers across the country by March 2023.Bhavish Aggarwal announced its upcoming battery innovation center (BIC) in Bangalore, which will be Asia's largest Cell R&D facility. Bhavesh Aggarwal said that the Battery Innovation Center will include more than 165 pieces of “unique and cutting-edge” ab equipment that will cover every component of a cell, making it one of Asia's largest and most advanced cell research and development (R&D) facilities.


The EV maker recently launched a special ‘Love on 2 Wheels’ campaign under which it’s offering multiple discounts ,offers, cashback and exchange bonus with the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters.

Under its special ‘Love on 2 Wheels’, the company is providing the lowest interest rates starting at 8.99 percent with zero processing fee and additional discounts on select credit cards. The Ola buyers can also access the Ola hypercharger network at free of cost for a year. Additionally, there is a 50 percent discount (costs Rs 1500) on Ola Care and network service subscription plans for both S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters.

Ola Electric has plans to launch an electric sports car in 2024. As a result, the company will compete with Indian giant Tata Group, Mahindra & Mahindra, and other global industry giants.

In the premium scooter segment, India is already one of the world’s largest EV markets.
